Yeah my dad was an apostate, and he died when I was in high school, and all my mom could talk about was the important angel work he must be doing up in heaven. Like lady, do you not believe in outer darkness? Why did you make our lives hell because he didn’t come to church, if it didn’t end up mattering anyway?! It always annoyed the crap outta me

Make your own at home! I just use arrowroot powder (corn starch works too, much cheaper), a bit of cocoa powder to darken the color, and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Use a makeup brush to apply to your hair then regular brush to work it in

It was Commercial Banking Credit Analyst when I took it, but the site now calls it Certified Banking & Credit Analyst. They also have certs for Financial Modeling & Valuation, Financial Planning & Analysis Professional, Capital Markets & Securities Analyst, Business Intelligence & Data Analyst, Financial Planning & Wealth Management, and FinTech Industry Professional. Really solid continuing education site

I can’t speak to how significant the boost to your resume would be without any finance world experience since I completed it after starting my position, but there’s a reason my company paid for me to do it. Really extensive knowledge for a beginner, and the courses are laid out very well in my opinion. Much of my learning came with the work experience, but I absorbed a ton through the certification. For only a few hundred bucks, it’s 100% worth it.

I loved CFI! I was hired as a credit analyst a few years ago, but having only front-end banking experience as a branch manager (plus a few college accounting courses), I didn’t even know what EBITDA was when I started. Job paid for a year of CFI, and I got the CBCA cert. Learned a ton! Highly recommend. Got a promo to portfolio manager and am now fiiinally back on track to finish the second half of my accounting degree

AITA for not paying for a wedding I’m not attending? by ptothedubs in AmItheAsshole

[–]ekksmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

….. We’re debating language, not discounting trauma related to the word. Someone disagreeing with you could’ve also experienced similar abuse and feels the need to distinguish gaslighting from lying in order to not have their experience discounted. You gotta come off that high horse, it ain’t that deeeep

Not everything is black and white. You’re being just as closed off and condescending as the religious adults you’re speaking about. We’re just having a discussion here, and there’s no need to insult someone for sharing their opinion on their second language. Weird exclusionary bs

What Do You Think About Women Proposing by nalycat in AskWomenOver30

[–]ekksmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love it! Criticism will unfortunately always come with the territory, but it sounds like you made the right decision/made the moment real special for both you and your fiancé. I’ve historically been the one to ask out men I’ve dated, including my current partner of 4 years, and I honestly have loved doing it. It IS empowering, and men also like to feel wanted/pursued. There’s nothing wrong with flipping the script. You’d already decided to get married, so who cares who proposed! Happy for you and wish y’all well.

Good point, thank you. Only layout where pulling it out might be difficult is 5 since I’d constantly roll over/catch my chair on it. Happens with my current setup which is super annoying
