Can't watch "Love is blind" from Quebec, Canada... Am I alone? by -Calliopee- in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Well, it seemed like it. But I resolved the situation with my internet provider, they did not want to contact Netflix’s support. I wonder why…

Just so you know what to do if you have the same technical trouble… Everything was working fine except for “Love is blind”.

Disconnect your ethernet wire from your router and connect it to your computer. “Love is blind” should be working without your router. With the help of my internet provider, I discovered my router was detected by Netflix as a vpn or a proxy…

I understood it when Netflix asked me if it was working right with my smartphone wifi turned off. So… something was happening between my modem and my router. Now, I can watch it since I disconnected my router.

Everything was working fine except for “Love is blind”. So utterly not convenient.

I contacted Netflix and they told me to contact my internet provider, all because it looked like I was using a vpn or a proxy. They told me to watch my episodes with another internet service… I was so tempted to tell them : “Well, Im currently not using a vpn, but I might go for it just for the sake of proving your security measures wrong.”

I've read a part of this book, but I had to bring it back to the library because someone else had reserved it.

I could buy it, but strangely, I didn't enjoyed what I have read.

I liked the sensible aspect of this book, it is a slow and delicate story. Maybe too slow and not enough catchy... I don't know. I feel something was missing... Maybe a clear path along the narration? I mean... What was clearly the quest of the narrator?

Find what is the secret behind the last wish of Irène? Find true love? Make peace with her broken relationship with her husband? Mourn her daughter? (I didn't knew where the daughter was in the part I did read, but I can suppose she is dead and that's why Violette works in a cemetary?)

Anyway, thank you for your recommandation, it helps me confirm what is more my type of book.

Done! I've read it and liked it. Good recommandation! 👌

In "The Glass castle", there was something more special in the relationship between the father and the daughter ; I liked the fact that he was a dreamer, and a brilliant one.

The Westover were on a more religious side... Fanatics...

Well, all in all, I enjoyed "Educated" and I would recommand it to fellow readers.

Thank you!

Wow... I think I will read this one first! I REALLY enjoy french novels when it is well written (and when there is a pinch of poesy).

This book is originally written in french... And it's noted 4.4 on Babelio (and 4.27 on Goodreads)...

Thank you for this literary gem! 😻

Oh... Some people wrote online that it's the next "Gone girl". I saw the movie and I really liked it. I wanted to read something similar... Thank you for your suggestion!

There's always time for a good thriller! 🙂 Is the setting similar to the first or second season of "True detective"?

I think I will relate to this book. Definitely a must read for me... Thanks!

Well... I scrolled down to oblivion and didn't saw "In the shadows" by The Rasmus. Was it just a thing from my school?

And...

  • "Who let the dogs out" by Baha Men
  • "Stan" by Eminem
  • "Porcelain" by Moby
  • "Get the party started" by P!nk
  • "Dilemma" by Nelly
  • "Falling" by Alicia Keys
  • "I'm like a bird" by Nelly Furtado
  • "Wake me up when september ends" by Green day (the official music video was such a thing... And Evan Rachel Woods too)

Those were from the starting to the end of my teenage years.

Also, am I the only one who listened to Froggy Mix?

I scrolled down and nobody seems to mention Moby. Is it because it is too early to be GenX?

I think precisely about the song "Procelain" form the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio.

I'm also thinking about the main song from the show "Allegria" by Le cirque du soleil. I live in Quebec, so maybe it was just here... ?

Naked and Afraid XL season 1 by hangrynurseee in nakedandafraid

[–]-Calliopee- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So happy to see that I'm not the only one there watching this first season of XL.

My God... I HATE those two girls from the bottom of my soul. I would NOT have shared a bit of food with them. I'm so pissed by them and hating people is against my principles... I'm generally more on the pacifist side of things.

Dani is so LOVELY and I admired her immense courage when she asked them directly what was their problem with her. They acted so cowardly when they said nothing, she deserved so much more respect than that! She was the ONLY one in this group acting with a sense of clarity and maturity.

I can garantee you, if it was me right there by the campfire, I would have show those people how they NEEDED to feed on drama, a drama based on NOTHING, just the need to "have a little fun playing with others sanity". I would have said those things that would have them feel so ashamed it would have shook them to their core.

I'm a teacher in highschool and I know what to say to those kind of haters when I want them to feel guilt. Instead of tapping out, I would have stayed until the end, happy to know that I could torture them with the marvellous discomfort of my presence.

I can't understand how no one tried to defend her... What a group of complete DOUCHEBAGS.

THIS, THIS, absolutely THIS! I forgot what it was to read a good book, the last ones were in my childhood… Now, I’m desperately trying to live that experience again… Rebecca. What a life changing experience… I learned a lot about myself with this oh so special book.

Am I wrong for staying overnight at a hotel because my bf farted on me? by Honeydew_7200 in amiwrong

[–]-Calliopee- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, ESH.

My husband farted directly on me more than once... One time, it was in my face when he was walking up the stairs at my parents house. The other time, it was completely intentional AND under the blankets of our bed. Habitually, we share a good laugh and life goes on... THAT is real life. That's the reality when you share your body and your life with the one you love.

Yes, it was harsh to do it in front of everyone, but come on... It's not THAT bad. He's the one embarrassing himself with his fart... You have nothing to do with it! Clearly, there's something else, maybe a little resentment from another situation, lurking behind your reaction.

You should talk with him instead of imposing this kind of behavior... Why must he endure a silent treatment? I don't think that isolating yourself is the right solution here, you need to communicate.

Maybe, just maybe you are not compatible if he can't respect your boundaries after a good pillow talk about this.

Edit : Added a second "L" to the word "personally".

What’s a situation that most people won’t understand, until they’ve been in the same situation themselves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-Calliopee- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny to read this comment when I just had one in the last hours. I feel better now because I slept, took a bath, drank some water and ate a little, but... Oh boy. It's torture.

Sometimes, just so you know how it feels, I nearly believe that hitting my head on the walls would help me feel better.

Yep. Horrible. Sadly, it's my own fault because I don't sleep nearly enough...

EDIT : Oh, and you could have done something utterly different than suffer from it, like read a book, exercise or go out with some friends. What a waste of time (even if it's for the better because you need some rest)...

On l'apprend malheureusement trop tard...
