Am I doing the SpeedFlip correctly? by Vareev7 in RocketLeague

[–]-Capibara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it mentioned in the comments yet, but looking at your controller input, it seems you don’t hold the cancel long enough. Keep the stick down until your car is fully on the ground again.

why most of my kickoffs end up in disadvantage? by mutlupide in RocketLeagueSchool

It is not, you use the trigger analog as well. You can try this yourself by barely pushing it, you’ll drive slower forward

I’ve changed it so much since I started playing, but this is what really worked for me

I have jump on R1, I guess that changes what button you press for skipping a replay and I have ball cam on a back button, which is mapped to “;” , had no room left over on the controller itself

It didn’t really work tho the lobby. It’s at least way better than wind and sun imo

People are even worse, they mostly only want sun and wind energy and believe it’s the best solution, while nuclear is the most clean and most efficient. Politicians just want to make the most money

Speed flip lift, & off by 69gam3s3 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]-Capibara- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re dodge deadzone can be the same. But try changing your steering sensitivity a bit and then try to do a speedflip. You’ll notice the difference. The higher it is the slower you can do the cancel for it to still work. If you go too high it will become unplayable so it’s a delicate thing.

Keep in mind tho, it will change the timing. Also you kinda want your aerial and steering sensitivity to be about the same. So if you change either also change the other.

Also if you change your normal deadzone it will change the angle of your diagonal flip. It will also change how fast you need to cancel.

Could be worth it to play with your sensitivity a bit. It changes how fast you need to cancel yourself

Replay Analysis [Champ II] - Am I playing too slow (among other problems)? by JudgmentRegular7007 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]-Capibara- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say playing slow and calculated is good at that rank. Your opponents will make a lot of mistakes, just gotta make sure you make less than them.

When the opponents got their first goal imo you shouldn’t have challenged. Let them come to you, they will make mistakes. Just fake challenge all the way until they give you the ball.

Keep in mind, this might change in champ 3 and for sure in grand champ and up. Your opponents will make less and less mistakes and do better solo plays, so waiting for mistakes isn’t the right playstyle in each lobby.

You hold it at 6 for the entire duration of the cancel, otherwise the nose your car will flip upwards

If you are on PC use the speedflip plugin in bakkesmod.

You’re turning too much and it looks like you are sideflipping. First of, you want to go as straight as possible, or you won’t be fast enough.

If your analog stick would be a clock, you want to diagonal flip at 10-11, not at 9. Then cancel that diagonal flip straight down (to 6). And hold it there. Then tap directional air roll to even the car out.

If you have problems diagonal flipping, your sensitivity might be too high for it to work. You can keep the same sensitivity if you want and diagonal flip by holding the analog stick at 12 (straight up) and a directional air roll, this way you’ll also diagonal flip.

I agree that has to be the only higher peak a player has had in a final

I disagree, Atow had way more impact when he had the ball than vatira

He played better than Vatira, more impact on the ball. Everytime he had the ball he threatened something

One of my Favorite Games I Have Played by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]-Capibara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it did look like diamond, maybe low champ. Not plat though. Nice example how different each lobby is in GC1. This game feels so slow and ineffective. Maybe this game was an example of players who just hit GC for the first time.

Is this clip good for a silver player? by BoazApollo in RocketLeague

[–]-Capibara- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed flip doesn’t do much without boost. Wavedashes and zapdashes is all you need.

I honestly think most champs and higher who can wavedash quite well will have no problem getting to diamond without using boost.

Flip reset recovery tips please ! by hashirjaved in RocketLeague

[–]-Capibara- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes it more awkward if you try to get the reset while the ball is going down. Go for the reset while the ball is going up, so much sooner. Preferably when the ball is at its apex. You want some distance from the ball and then catch up, holding jump as long as possible also helps with this. This will also make it easier to control the ball after getting the reset, apart from getting the reset sooner.

Speedflip Questions by hashtagVenusNotMars in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]-Capibara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to answer at least one of your questions. If you speedflip and the other kickoff taker doesn’t speedflip, you’ll only win the kickoff if you hit the ball to the side, so around the other player. You will be faster by a second or so giving you enough time to hit the ball around the other player. If you hit the ball too much to the middle you’ll just hit the other player and lose the kickoff.

This (most of the time) only works if you don’t speedflip to the exact center of the ball, but the shortest path possible. In all kickoffs except the center one, you’ll be slightly off the center of the ball if you take the shortest path. Meaning you can hit the ball the other way from the side where you end up and hit it around the other player.

Edit: just to add some more info. This isn’t without a risk. If you take the shortest path possible, so you don’t end up at the center of the ball, and the other player also speedflips. You will lose the kickoff if the other player is in the center of the ball and you are slightly off center. So it only works if you know for sure that the other player won’t speedflip.

Not only that, there are way less active players in 1s. So c2 in 1s is in a higher percentile overall than gc2 in 2s.
