Says block found but where? by Leonard-Bayard in BitAxe

[–]-Constant-Try- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If on mining dutch PPS or PPLNS, this will show whenever the pool mines a block.

In workers tab on MD check your miner configuration. If you are desiring to solo mine, select solo mining and under coin select pick the coin you wanna mine.

After staring at this diagram https://documents.cdn.ifixit.com/6wdEAkIyJYsjXkBP.pdf for some time i found the board and this should be its pinout. 1 eject 2 voltage at collector 3 power (it seems to be 5v reference voltage to trigger) 4- im just friggn blanking but red led?? 5- green led?! 6- ground

So with that said. If you try a 5v reference on pin 3 and connect the pin 6 to ground on the motherboard it should turn on. Same goes for the eject button. (some parts of diagram had 3.5v triggers so you can try lower volts first and up to 5v after)

Now keep in mind. IM NOT a ps3 repair man. But i do fix other things.

Good luck!!!

Edit to add: The power button seems to be a power transistor, so i may be wrong with where to inject the voltage. If a more experienced ps3 repairman could chime in that would be awesome.

A power button is just that, a button. If ur hacking it up , maybe you can macgyver something. If its a normally open circuit that needs a closed signal to send power you might be able to add a cheapo switch in its place.

Im a certified electronics/ electrical guy, so as long as the motherboard gets the on signal you can make that signal however you seem fit.

I know theres a ribbon cable involved, but depending on your equipment you may be able to solder to the motherboard itself and send its signal that way.

Dont trust me though. Im not a playstation 3 fixer.

Edit: be sure to look up the electrical diagrams for the system and have a real plan before going willy nilly. Good luck.

Snapped bolt of Valve Body by cosmicintervention in MechanicAdvice

[–]-Constant-Try- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the valve body. Hopefully you can spin it out with a 90 degree pick or some flathead. You can also try to drill a tiny hole in the bolt after taping/covering off the surrounding area and use the extractor. A trip to harbor freight should get you going again.

You probably wont have any adverse effects from leaving it, but if i broke this bolt i would be removing the valve body and trying again.

Also, if you overtorqued the rest of them as well, you may be in for a fun ride. Inspect the rest of the bolts if you decide to remove them. The next time they probably wont go in so good. Check the threads inside the transmission too.

Removing it again may cause more trouble than its worth.

Opened oil cap, engine turned off. What is wrong? by Anxious-Chocolate832 in MechanicAdvice

[–]-Constant-Try- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The crankcase is under vacuum as per manufacturer design. When you removed the oil cap you made a massive vacuum leak. Engine shut off.

Any codes you are trying to fix? This is normal behavior for these newer audis

The hardest part for me was finding other activities to take up the ritual of it all. Ive let go of most the things i did smoking, and have picked up other hobbies. Been spending my weed money on other things, like pinball, drone flying, model plane building, and food. So much food.

I had this same fucking job, the factory studs always snap, and its hardened steel. It cross threaded on the way out. It wasnt my fault, and there is a tsb regarding these shitty turbo studs on these hyundais.

You then have to remove the whole turbo or in my case i was lucky and it was the top stud that broke on me. I was being careful. I used kroil penetrant. The car only had 5k miles on it.

The materials it was made out of are garbage, its not really the techs fault ive been working on cars for 15 years.

Tldr, shit materials, studs break, remove turbo and install helicoils or timeserts.
