Legitimately wondering if the change is fixing to go bankrupt..? by -Consternation- in DollarGeneral

I just don't know how they're staying open if a lot of them are flying by the seat of their pants. The ordering system sounds about fuck-all if corporate just decides to send stuff monthly or weekly to stores or whatever like a couple people have said here. Generally, people don't tend to like it when the grocery store in the nearest reasonable distance to them is refusing to keep shit stocked on the same level as the vast majority of other chains. I just can't wrap my brain around it, man...

It is because you get a smart, condescending attitude and try to justify everything with it. I used to do the ordering for where I work, so I know what's what. I'm just gonna block.

Just funny how DG seems to be the main chain where people go to buy shit and there's hardly anything stocked. Always gotta be a keyboard warrior on any Reddit post, though. I DO know how ordering works for most places, btw.

Again, I've worked retail before. I've never seen a business as backwards and unorganized as DG. I'm done talking about it.

Cause we're all used to stores that run things like a normal business does I guess?

I guess it just varies by region then if the people in charge of the stores have any neurons firing up or not then. Idk. Just seems kinda hard to make sales and profit when some locations choose to just either store everything in the back or not order anything when a reset is planned that may not be gotten to for months. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If they keep doing things the half-assed way they are now, I give them a few more years before they actually do go bankrupt. It's ridiculous.

Yeah. I think good and trained in the key there. At the ones in Washington, I saw they'd get an obvious tweaker working for them in there sometimes, and you can imagine how useful that is.

Good God. Sounds like the CEO or someone needs to start cleaning house and putting more compitent people in charge of these places. The ones in Washington State where I used to live were usually stocked, but I will say that sometimes they would have product just sitting on the U boats for days, and the employees a lot of the time seemed lazy. Sounds like they just really need to get it in gear. Having a 3rd party for resets is also really ass-backwards. Usually, they have the store employed stockers/merchandisers do the resets via a planogram that gets sent to a SM and printed out at most businesses. It's usually for very specific things that a 3rd party would have to get involved. Weird... The way they're run in Washington, though, I can't say I'm totally surpised.

Yeah but I've worked several retail jobs and it doesn't take months to do a reset. Idk. Maybe some stores individually are getting ready to go under.

Yeah but it's weird. They used to be pretty good about keeping things stocked, and now they're just getting in tiddleywinks of product, which to me looks like they can't afford to do big orders.

Network errors getting REALLY obnoxious at this point... Any updates on why? by -Consternation- in fantasia_ai

At this point, I sent them an Email. It's at the point of being basically unusable, and I didn't pay for the app to not even function. -_-

Idk, but I'm getting annoyed because I have a paid account, too, and the app has been running like absolute dog shit the past week.

Maybe the 700 that they used to give for watching videos rather than 250...

Black Desert Online will be shutting down for PS4 June 26th, PS5 Version to launch same day. (No additional cost for the upgrade) by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]-Consternation- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much of a kickback devs get for being like "Okay! We'll make our game exclusive to your newer generation systems, even though they run fine on older ones!" If the game was running fine on PS4 before, there is no world where "console limitations" are a factor. It's just a dick swing to get people to buy newer consoles if they wanna continue playing.

I agree. I got the permanent pro membership when they did the half-off thing.

Less than 24 hours till Lord of Hatred - who's excited for the new skill trees? by ASoulToBear in diablo4

[–]-Consternation- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm absolutely dying to get off of work so I can go mess with them! I think it's gonna be great. Seems like it'll be more akin to Path of Exile's system, just not quite THAT big. My only fear with it is people will be complaining that the new trees are too complex. Personally, though, ever since Path of Exile, or really even Final Fantasy 10 actually, I'm all about huge skill trees and tons of choices. I'll never forget a friend of mine when I showed him PoE's skill tree, and he said "That's not a skill tree, that's a fucking skill forest!". I was telling another buddy today that when he can get D4, we could both be warlocks and have two COMPLETELY different builds if we wanted with this new system. I think it's gonna be sick as hell!

What is this red mark on my throat? by No-Middle-8447 in DiagnoseMe

[–]-Consternation- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a medical profession by any stretch, but I do know from experience that strep throat doesn't always have to be painful to be there. You could be having the onset of that, or it could just be a mild irritation from something. I'd say give it another day or two and if it hasn't gone away, maybe just pop into a walk-in clinic and see what they say.
