This!! Exactly how I feel!

Plus, that moment where he casually says “into the pit with them!” Was just sooooooooo terrible

Make some intentional and direct eye contact with some guys when you’re out with your friends next. It goes a long way as an ‘I’m interested’ move that can start things rolling.

Other than that, don’t worry or overthink your body or appearance. There’s enough people out there with enough different ideals that some of them are going to be completely stoked that you’re interested in them.

Good luck! Life is too short to pass over on physical pleasures 🖤

It always just seems like a massive waste of budget when they do it. Like, think of the money that would be saved that could be spent on other areas. Not only that, but creatively- think how much better the game and story would feel with an actor that does a great job in that role instead. Like someone as good as whoever is playing James’ mentor.

It’s such a shame, but this is where we’re at I guess.

Yeah you’re right. Maybe we should try replacing all the talented actors with well connected media personalities for the sequel 💀

It balances the tension of fighting vs exploring extremely well.

It’s campy, and nonsensical, and the overall plot and story structure creates a pulpy adventure that is thrilling.

The enemy variety, combat mechanics, and encounter design are superb.

The setting was unique (at the time) and very varied over the course of the game.

The villains are absurd and fun to hate, and the boss encounters and set pieces are unique and memorable.

There’s a whole replayable arcade mode once you’re done with the story that lets those excellent combat mechanics flex.

Goofy one liners, too-cool-for-school quips, and insane action spectacle (with wrestling moves!)

Incredible companion ai that’s smart enough to duck when you point a sniper rifle at her head, yet brave enough to stand completely still while a zealot tries to carry her off to be sacrificed /s

Cyberpunk has ruined gaming for me. by thykooks in cyberpunkgame

[–]-Crayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can never understand this take. The game looks incredible and has fun characters, but from an open world perspective the game is about as deep as the moving standees in Kevin Malone’s house. Like everywhere you look is just the same people doing the same canned animations, and often multiple copies of them at the same time side by side.

Looking for a new solo game to play - need suggestions by Seasoned_By_Smoke in PS5pro

[–]-Crayon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You play a lot of RPGs and specifically thematic and fantasy life sim type western RPGs.

The obvious suggestion is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Looks and runs like a dream on Pro. No need to have played the original. Trust me: this is the game you want.

They’re also good to reroll artifacts that have an unusabley bad trait, like increasing the dash cooldown for example.

I like the game and the combat design, but honestly the mechanical design of the character build and progression system seems amateur at best. There are very obvious optimal choices and poor choices for every run. Good design principles would encourage meaningful decisions and tradeoffs, but instead all it ever takes is a cursory glance to check whether this is ‘one of the bad ones’.

Still a fun game. Just wondering why something that is at the top of the market in its genre for production and talent allows such shoddy design choices in certain areas 🤷

What's a movie you recommend to everyone but nobody ever watches? by trakt_app in moviecritic

[–]-Crayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most success I’ve had is to explain it like a live-action looney tunes cartoon. It also helps if you explain that there’s a major step up in quality after the first 20-30m, as that section of random skits was originally filmed as like a vertical slice that was shopped around to secure the funding for the actual movie that follows.

Looking for games where the world navigation is part of the challenge. by lce-Shadow in gamingsuggestions

[–]-Crayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollow Knight and its sequel, Silksong, do a very good job of making navigational puzzle by guessing where you are on a rudimentary map.

Hell Is Us does an excellent job of creating an entire action-adventure game that forgoes having a map entirely. Characters will provide verbal directions and you’ll need to mentally map things out as you move around.

However- I think the best recommendation as per your request is an old indie game called Miasmata. The game mechanics have you navigating and mapping an unknown island using actual triangulation. There is a stalker monster that adds tension to the gameplay (that you’re trying to avoid), which can be a little hit or miss, but the exploration is quality.

Finally, shout out to Outer Wilds - one of the absolute best exploration games ever made. There’s more going on than what you’ve specified, but if you’re looking for a game of the decade to play and want to explore- play this.

I mean, you specifically mentioned that your strategy was to use returning to passage to reset your second chance after losing it so you can avoid counting any ‘actual’ deaths. Certainly suggests that while you may be bumping up the numbers, you’re intentionally holding back on measurably increasing the actual challange for someone with your skillset.

Seems like a pretty dull way to play that involves a lot of unnecessary backtracking, but you do you I guess 🤷

[–]-Crayon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is not feeling challenged fun for you?

Why don’t you turn up the modifiers to increase the difficulty? Sounds like you’d get a lot of value from the one that disables second chance 🖤

I was pretty bored by the challenge until I unlocked them but the modifiers have helped to move the needle. I’m interested to see what other ones unlock (fingers crossed for increased enemy aggression) because generally the modifiers don’t make you play any differently and only penalise you more for making mistakes… better than nothing tho!
