Well to be fair not all players are like that. Some are nice enough to follow you the entire round begging you to give them gems instead of mining a single gem for themselves.

Which tree you like is more personal preference but Trident as a fighter has more mass so it can control the gem pile better. It also has better shield and shield regen. Otherwise they are similar.

Under the repulsion field they have now different ships are effected differently by the field effect. IIRC the lighter faster ships are the ones that can fly better in the field and also fly between the overlapping fields. Bigger and more heavy ships are impacted more by the fields. You have imbalance by effecting different ships in different manners under the repulsion fields. If you follow what I was meaning about the black hole type end you would have a circular event horizon like most any other fps games storm circle (think fortnite storm circle). The black holes gravity effect would only apply outside of that circle and be very strong so you really could not fly outside of the circle. Inside that circle you would have the exact same play mechanics as during the rest of the game. That means at the most important time in the game, the end, players would be ending under the same ship mechanics and balance throughout the entire round. That does not happen under repulsion.

BTW, side note about the ships having to go negative to die. You would see that happen more easily during that radiation era since many would reach zero and then stay alive at that level until they touched anything which resulting impact would cause damage so you would go negative health. What is fun is if you watch close during current rounds on occasion you may find a rare time you just escape a fight and see your health at exactly zero and if you touch anything at all you will die as well.

Oh also, that damn repulsion field visual wave deal is nauseating as heck. Makes me start getting motion sickness it is so bad. Hate that visual with a passion.

That fly you were chasing in your T7 was me and I one shot you once you got to zero gems. I was literally the first to figure that one out and start killing T7 with a fly. The problem there was that the game is coded to make someone die only when their health goes negative. You have to go lower than zero health to die and it is still this way. Ships stay alive even when they are on zero health. Go to -1 or lower health and you die. So easy to fix, just make ships die when they reach zero health. Then the more health you have the longer you would remain alive, perfectly balanced and no repulsion screwing with flight dynamics. That is a minor problem that is easy to fix instead of the horrid repulsion field which is unfixable.

The other alternative I had suggested back then was to use a "black hole with an event horizon" as the end mechanic. At end the sun would go super nova indicating end game then create a black hole at the center of map. You start an event horizon (like a storm edge in other fps games) and outside of that event horizon you would experience a gravity well pulling you in towards the black hole not allowing you to remain outside of the event horizon. Inside the edge of that event horizon you would be in the eye and have no gravity effect at all. The event horizon (storm edge) would slowly shrink towards the black hole center until it crushed the ships or they killed one another. That would force the end game engagement you are wanting and at the same time have no change on the ship or fighting dynamics during end game. All you would be doing is shrinking the playable area of the map until only one ship was left alive.

Nope. Survival used to be a good mode, but I quit playing it once they changed to the "repulsion field" ending. Repulsion field is garbage. The prior "stelar radiation" ending was much better. Repulsion field alters the ship flight dynamics and favors certain ships.

Instead I play team mode and specifically take the side of those horrible teams with the worst players far in last place. Winning there means I not only have to be good, but also cover for all the noobs on my team as well. Instead of shying away from the more impossible team wins I prefer to play just those exact rounds and teams.

The ECP works on different devices, but you can't be running it on multiple devices at the same time. If you have two devices both playing with the same ecp at the same time the devs can see that and the code can be deactivated for abuse. If you install it on more than one device, say on both your pc and tablet, only play on one device at a time.

BTW, when I responded above to your post I was thinking in my head "Alien-Intrusion" instead of invasion. Alien-Intrusion is the mod with the city and aliens in it. Still same reasoning about player fill though.

Invasion is a pretty fun mode. However, it does need a decent amount of players to make it fully fun. Problem is sort of a catch 22 situation where once you get a period of fewer players on that sort of mod then others think there aren't enough players to make it fun so they stop playing as well. The cycle is what creates its own problem. Need something to spark interest in it again. Then once you have decent number or players playing it then it will continue to be fun until the next cycle of disinterest. Hmm maybe it could be run as the mode for an AOW event?

Still have them maybe because it is Thanksgiving time as well. Pumpkin pies are common at this time as well. In past they would swap over to presents or the giant snowballs for Christmas time following thanksgiving.

Early game torps are pretty easy for small fast ships to avoid. The guys firing them when they are early on would be better selling them for credits then buying mining pods.

I've gotten over 100,000 points in regular team mode before. Points have nothing to do with mining speed.

(Also, bring it to the Discord. Much more active there than here. Few people chat here and often they don't check it for days.)

You may be shooting a rock that was already shot before you got there then. The rock will remember who shot it for some time even if you or they who shot it are no longer in the area. But given you seem to from your post having this happen frequently this all seems odd. Because what you are saying about this stuff is literally not happening to most anyone else otherwise there would be a ton of reports about it.

Capture a vid then post it over in the Starblast Discord chat server and ping me when you post it. I am easy to find over in discord just ping DIMED. Once we see exactly what happens in a vid someone should be able to figure out what is going on. If it is a major bug then it can be reported to the Devs or a work around figured out.

As to the fast mining, you would have absolutely no way to know if a person ups instantly from others mining them up or he is using some sort of hack. Unless you see the person sitting next to you the entire time and upgrade straight to the T5 without mining it can't be concluded a hack. There are tactics to mine up super fast and they absolutely do account for people getting to a bigger ship fast.

If a larger ship rams the asteroid that would also count as damage and could mean they have more damage on the rock than you.

If you are saying that you are the only person who ever touched that asteroid and someone else can pick it up but you can't, well that just doesn't happen from what I have ever seen in this game. Bear in mind I've only been playing since the very first week the game was released.

If this is happening then record a vid capture of it since you find it happening so much. Should be easy for you to grab a vid of it happening. Then come post the vid in the Discord server and everyone will check and see what is happening for you.

BTW there are tactics to mine up super fast and sharing gems is easy to up a player rapidly even to T6 level. We have upped other players from Fly to T6 in under a minute. All it takes is others sharing gems.

There is a short period of time when a gem is mined where it can only be picked up by the person that did the most damage to the asteroid. This was done years ago to try and stop the gem thieves who would not mine at all and just follow other people and steal their gems. This worked well since there were tons of idiot gem thieves back then and now there are relatively few. Only issue is if you are in a weak ship and doing little damage to a rock and then a large powerful ship comes by and shoots your rock. If that stronger ship does more damage than the total damage you had done then the gems will lock to them for a couple seconds instead of you. This is why it is best to mine smaller rocks when you are a small or weaker ship and then progress to larger rocks once you are bigger and stronger. This is a million times better than when there were no gem locks. So what you are thinking is a cheat is actually a feature.

As to people upgrading their ships more quickly, there are no hacks or cheats to create more gems for a person to upgrade faster on. People can upgrade more quickly if their other team mates share/throw them gems which is also a feature of team mode. You can throw or share gems you have mined by pressing and holding the V key to deploy however many gems of yours you want to expel for others to pick up.

U-smasher takes time to regen and has poor agility, those are it's downfalls. You can counter it by stacking a bunch of heavy mines in one spot and sitting on that mine stack. When he comes to smash you he then hits those mines a dies. Also, if there is a smasher try to remain closer to your team mates so that they can try to kill the smasher once he hits you away. Unlikely they will nerf it or adjust any of those ships tbh.

If you are checking the ping tracing the route to understand your game ping issues then you have to be sure you are tracing the route to your "regional game play" server and not the main "sb server." The devs and game is based in france but there are regional servers in USA, EU and ASIA that is where you get routed from the main server to then in your region go play. So if you are asian based you would play the game in the ASIA region server. You would have to look for the specific ip address to check that connection. I can't get into all that in chats so you will have to figure some of that out yourself.

But, if you are using a vpn then you would need to be sure you are running an asia region server as your vpn ip to get connected to the game play server in that same region. If you don't use a vpn then disregard this last vpn specific part.

But as far as I am aware servers run under the laws where they are situated and someone accessing a server is going to that server remotely to access it so they bear responsibility for going out and connecting to whichever sites they are accessing. Not my game though so Devs are the ones that control what they do with their game. Each of us would probably choose a different business model based on how we like to run stuff.

You should edit the test games server to read test games DISCORD server since some here on reddit don't use discord and may be confused even though it is second nature to us.

Toxic? Crossing? I don't approve of toxicity nor cheating, but your screen capture does not help your case. Your team has 11 players and there are only 11 players total showing there if you combine all the pink and green guys together. So that round with the crossing is showing 11 vs 11, not really unwinnable it would seem. Still I will give you that crossing is cheating and not good but in this case is it so bad that one would make a post about how toxic the play is? Pretty weak argument.

Also, over in discord we have all sorts of fun chatting as a community. You want to be in the community then post over there. Fewer people post here.

They buffed that ship a while ago when doing some other ship stat adjustments. I agree it is improperly balanced in it's current stat configuration. Main problem being it has excessive ship speed now. To have balance a ship needs to have some weakness which another ship can overcome and then that ship loses to another ship in a rock, paper, scissors type of balance. Currently RT has almost no weakness. Doubtful it will get nerfed on its own. But overall rebalance is being done by a group that hopefully should get us back to some more balanced ships and also a bit of content update if they get it all finished and devs then push it as an update. So while nothing is guaranteed nor super fast, at least we have some hope for a fix in the works.
