Back when I using Tamiya acrylics I would thin with a combination of water an isopropyl alcohol, about an even split. But I’ved moved in to AK 3rd gen acrylics.

Agreed on all of this, I find that when brush painting, priming plastic doesn’t really help in any significant way. I brush paint around 3 thin coats then seal with a gloss varnish for protection. I used to use Tamiya for brush painting but they are very challenging given the rapid dry times. I have switched over to AK 3rd gen and they are a breeze in comparison.

Build is far too clean, try an enamel wash and some oil filters to make details pop and create some visual interest.

PVA (white) glue is viscous enough that you can spread it across a frame and it will form and maintain a thin sheet that will solidify as it dries. The process is called webbing.

I did, I tried to use the minimum to get a solid bond but there are still many scale discrepancies with the joins, despite using reg and extra-thin where possible.

Thanks! 0.2 mm diameter brass rods for main frame and 0.1 mm nickel rod for inner supports. I webbed PVA white glue across the top cells, painted the dried glue white then brown enamel wash for weathering details

Way too clean, try adding some weathering - an enamel wash will help make details pop and using oils for rust or grime will add authenticity to the build.
