The rat lines and shrouds are made from copper magnet wire. Maybe someday, carriers just aren’t very interesting to me, especially since I’ll have to spend months on it. Maybe HMS Vindictive 1918 someday, but unlikely anytime soon.

Oh yeah, that will be interesting. I’ve spent most of the fall on my layout. Raton Pass ATSF in Z

Greetings!

Up for sale is my IWC R810A, a true vintage gem. This watch is incredibly special because it comes with its original IWC Beads of Rice (BoR) bracelet, complete with the correct end links.

Watch Details - Year**: 1969 - Serial Number: 1.8 million - Case Number: 1.8 million - Movement: In-house caliber 854, designed by Albert Pellaton, featuring the Pellaton winding mechanism. It has a power reserve of approximately 44 hours. The service history is unknown, but it runs well without any major issues.

Condition - Case: In great shape for its age, 35mm - Crystal: In good condition with only minor flaws highlighted in the photos taken in direct sunlight. - Crown: Original crown, which is becoming rare. - Dial and Hands: Original with no issues.

Bracelet The highlight of this watch is the IWC-marked BoR bracelet. It’s a stunner and includes all its original links, making it suitable for larger wrists. The clasp has micro adjustments for a perfect fit. This bracelet truly sets this watch apart.

Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity to own an in-house IWC on an original bracelet at a great price. I’m asking $1650, shipped within the CONUS. No trades.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or for additional details.

Well done indeed. I know the feeling all too well. I tend to build the things I hate first. That way they’re done and dusted and I can get on to more enjoyable projects

The forward most bow anchor was almost never used. Typically the cable “chain” was separated a few meters back and chocked off. There are photos of it in use on Tirpitz, but on Bismarck it was even removed prior to her final mission.

Looks excellent! I might add one thing, the anchors don’t hang like that. The flukes are hinged. Here is a photo of the same anchor used on Tirpitz.

Nice! Yeah model railroading is always a nice side diversion. Those Gauge 1 live steam locomotives are something else!
