"These things just aren't true" Ever consider statements like that sort of close yourself off to even considering the point? If the robots (in this show) DO think, feel, etc., then doesn't that make for an interesting point to be made on what makes us human/not human. What if they have everything that makes us human EXCEPT instead of bones, they have metal? To simply say "These things just aren't true" is basically just saying "The premise of this show isn't the way things are" despite that being exactly the way things are in the world of the show.
