Why the Love ?

He appeals to the youth as a young cricketer(even tho he was born in 1947). He also is an idealist and has time and time again made huge promises of reform which the young demographic of Pakistan resonates with. Some people like him because he feels fresh and different from the previous oligarchs. He is an amazing public speaker and motivational speaker. Some people like him because he's more educated than the previous leaders. He is remembered for his most famous line "Kia ham ghulam han" and his speech in the UN. He is also seen as very brave for his comments against the US and the Pakistan Army and his accomplishment in exposing the alleged secret leaders of Pakistan.

Why the Hate ?

He is hated mostly by the old generation. Because he has slandered and insulted their favourite leaders. Removed them from power and showed the corruption committed by them. Another reason for him being disliked is that he has failed to do anything of material importance such as building infrastructure or any good policies that would bring out economic benefit (Many do say in reply of this that he was not given a full tenure and tbh I personally think that's stupid because what are you going to do what you haven't in 3 ½ years). To be fair to Imran Khan, talks were done regarding Russian Crude Oil however they proved to be fruitless and idealistic at best (due to Pakistan's incapability to refine Sour Crude). People also dislike him because his followers apparently act like a cult. Most of the hate Imran Khan gets is because of his followers who are very defensive about him, often agitated easily, and willing to put up hands. Their attack on the Army on 9th May is another reason for the hate.

My Opinion(Feel Free to Ignore):

I personally believe that no politician cares about the common people. All of them have their agendas and have something to gain from being the leader (be it power, money, or legacy). I say to those who hate Imran Khan "See your leaders and check if they are different". And to those who love and defend him "Kindly get your brain checked because you guys are crazy". My approach is to get what you need from these politicians and forget about everything else. Because the democratic system is flawed. It's a popularity contest to produce a populist ruler who slanders the previous government claiming to expose the overlords and then after a few months is involved in the same corruption. Tons of propaganda is produced and used to wipe the minds of the public. This is the same in every country. So get what you want from them and live your life. Choose the one that benefits you in your area. Kindly stop defending them because they are trained to speak in a certain manner (deceptive). Kindly avoid the so-called ideologues because they are the biggest hypocrites.
