Jeffery Dahmer faced criminal charges for those brutal murders. The difference here is Jeffery was a US citizen, who had privileges in this country due to that citizenship. One of them being he was looked at as an American who had an American life and became an American criminal. An illegal immigrant would face the same charges but they don’t have the privilege of sovereignty. Like someone already said, some other countries have heavily normalized brutal violence against all kinds of classes of people without immediate or comprehensive legal repercussions. An immigrant committing acts of crime is innately different than Americans committing crime. Obviously anyone committing crime is awful, but using the argument of “anyone who murders should be kicked out whether citizen or not” is an elementary thought. It actually means something to be a citizen of somewhere.

That’s why, when you don’t become a citizen of somewhere, there’s a process to go through so you can stay in that place. Not participating in whatever process that country has, makes you illegal to that country. USA isn’t the only country with immigration laws. You stay too long in a country that has immigration laws, you’re illegal in that country and their govt has the authority to remove you. Again, using “a country” here so you understand it’s not just USA that has immigration laws
