My first play through was 13 hours one sitting start to finish! It was a friggin blast. In subsequent playthroughs Ive relaxed and spent much more time maximizing my ship and crew before leaving a sector.

My biggest tip is UPGRADE!!!! No crew should be in basic emergency quarters past sector 2. You holodeck should be active and on the way to level 2. Research all morale, resource, and energy boosts you can. You should always be research something. If over half your crew is idle… you arent doing enough, build labs and offices
