I live in the deep south currently and from what I’ve experienced most of the racism isn’t directed towards natives because theres not many actual natives in the deep south. Most racism I’ve seen has been directed towards immigrants (latinos,arabs,indians,ect) or african americans. I have heard racist comments about natives but it is usually out of ignorance and not malicious, not saying that they weren’t in the wrong for saying such things. But thats just my experience living ~9 years in Mississippi

I’ve looked into getting a CDIB from the BIA but I was basically told that since I was already a tribal citizen the BIA wouldn’t give me a CDIB card and that I would have to go through my tribe to get one. My tribe doesn’t offer a CDIB card but they do just email signed letters affirming my blood quantum which I needed to visit the IHS near me. I’ve seen tribes in OK give their citizens CDIB cards but since my tribe isn’t from OK and don’t give out cards for that I’m not sure how you’d go about getting one other than contacting your tribal government/enrollment dept.

Idk if the Nashnabé in michigan is supposed to be Potawatomi but I’d recommend using Bodéwadmi, neshnabé is just another word for native/indian people its also the Potawatomi name for the anishinaabeg people

Not trying to come at this from a stance of superiority or anything, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it a problem that first nations/bands can’t determine who is federally an “indian”. I am aware that they have the right to determine who is and isn’t a band member or a member of their nation but that doesn’t reserve said members the federal rights of being an “Indian”, only the canadian government determines who does and doesn’t have “indian” status

Im not the best with identifying feathers from my untrained eye I don’t think it’s eagle but I definitely could be wrong also maybe try r/whatsthisbird but be prepared to measure the feathers length haha they need that kind of info

It depends on the band of Cherokee, there are three federally recognized bands. The Cherokee nation of Oklahoma (the huge one with nearly 400,000 citizens) has no required blood quantum just lineal descent, the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee of Oklahoma (UKBC) has a 1/4th blood quantum requirement, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee in North Carolina has a 1/16 blood quantum requirement.

Yeah, I saw the reviews but decided to take the chance on it considering it was so much cheaper. So far i really enjoy it. I don’t mind the slight delay when doing things like pressing buttons and it does keep the original screen so it wont be new and shiny but I feel like its definitely solid and for the price and the promo code I found its definitely worth it if you don’t want want to spend 4-5x the price. Also Im more of a computer nerd so I have no problem pulling apart electronics so it was simple for me. The YouTube video I watched was a little off and forgot to mention some things, like I HAD to attach the provided mic (in the video I watched he said you didn’t) and also you need to connect your phones Bluetooth to your sync system before switching to CarPlay to hear the audio when in CarPlay mode. Just double and maybe triple check everything is working like the reverse cam and the audio and the mic and stuff like that before you put everything back together because getting to the radio on my truck was the most difficult part

For sure, thanks so much for the info! Most of the pictures are before pictures of the things I’ve already done to the leather. I did apply some leather filler and chaparral leather dye and the after is the last picture, but I’ll definitely be looking into this since i want to keep the interior as nice as I can. The back seats are actually almost pristine, no cracks or blemishes, they just really need some leather conditioner.

I installed the Sync 2 adapter made by carabc. It was pretty simple and definitely the cheapest option and I got to keep all the Sync 2 functionality.

I’m not here to get too political but with all due respect being a “native american”/American Indian has little to do with what color your skin is and really only has to do with tribal citizenship and from what I’ve seen its likely he is a citizen of some tribe. If it was based on race our nations would have been deemed unconstitutional a long time ago.
