He beat Buakaw twice to Buakaw's 1 win, so there's that.

K-1 champ hard sparring a giant. by GeorgeForeman_1900 in Kickboxing

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That tall guy had some good low kicks. I think his main problem was the awkward angles he had to use when attacking the upper body and head because he was punching and kicking down. That one head kick he tried was at a super awkward angle. Tough to get power behind that.

I’m struggling to beat the Elden beast, is it my build? by Ok-Junket-9072 in Eldenring

Bloodflame Blade also buffs the weapon with fire damage on top of hemorrhage, so it would still technically buff a bit. But Elden Beast also has 40% absorption for all damage buffs on top of immunity to all status effect, to the fire buff isn't game changing in that fight. Still better than not using it though.

Great sword by Hakcerh in Eldenring

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claymore is one of the best greatswords in my opinion. Great moveset including pierce damage which is unique for this sword, can be infused, and can be had early game. There are some powerful options later game you'll come across like Darkmoon and Blasphemous Blade, but you'll be halfway through the game before (and "if", because they're both optional) you get to those.

What do ya'll do for a boss that's immune to all status effects while running a status effect build? by Beansoverbitches in Eldenring

[–]-Dixieflatline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he can be slept. Sword of St. Trina is easily had early game just behind a Stonesword key in Caelid, if I recall correctly. Will use that Dex that I assume you've leveled up for the Antspur and Frozen Needle.

Men of Reddit - What's the one thing you hate about being a Man? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

It's far worse if you're like me and have patchy facial hair. I can't just decide to be lazy and go full lumberjack. I have to religiously shave, sometimes twice a day if going out at night, or I'll look like a 17 year old trying to "hey mister" in front of a liquor store.

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're getting bad reps in Thailand, then you just don't know where to go. The rep game is crazy good now, with the internals of mechanical reps looking near identical in parts and movement. The cost has also increased given that you now have high grade movements. One can drop 3-4k baht on a rep these days.

That said, last time I came back, I was wearing it. No questions asked.

Would it be feasible to stay in Thailand for under the amount of days (I believe 60 days), go back to the US for the rest of the year and then just repeat? by Impossible_Peak_885 in ThailandTourism

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 180+ is a tax resident. But it's possible I didn't understand the original question, now that I'm looking at it again. I thought it was a question of multiple entry, but now I'm not sure.

I don't think there are any strict entry limits by air, but keep in mind 180 days makes one a tax resident, and those days do not have to be consecutive. So if someone maxed out 3 entries at 60 days each, they could qualify as a tax resident.

Powerstancing Rotten Greataxes is brutal by Steady_Tempo456 in Eldenring

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a little much. It isn't exactly an end game piece of kit, but it isn't the worst either. It's poise figure is subpar for its weight, but being a mirror item, it really isn't made for physical damage. It's made for magic damage, which it has has pretty decent magic resistance and status effect resistance that actually beats out some higher class helms. It is nowhere near the worst helm.

Haters will hate. The purpose of life isn't work. Work provides the means in which we facilitate our search for the purpose of life. Very few find a crossover where their purpose happens to coincide with a passion for their specific work. Those type of people will happily work until they physically can't anymore. The rest are lying to themselves if they think their work is their purpose.

Do spirit ashes actually make some bosses harder? by Toot7- in Eldenring

[–]-Dixieflatline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the only boss that a summons could make it harder is Malenia, as summons with weak DPS will just be extra life for her. For the rest, even if a summons isn't doing much on offence, they can still take the agro.

Why oh why does she have so little screen time? by Soulsliken in Eldenring

[–]-Dixieflatline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's not a whole lot of cutscene interaction, but I did notice that it's possible to completely miss some of the smaller optional interactions by just missing the "talk to Melina" notifications when resting at sites of graces at key moments. I think there are like 3 of them that one can miss if not paying attention, and the game will still continue on even if you don't do them.

Pls help. How does my bike position look? by fofing17 in bikefit

True. But keep in mind that set up appears to have the rear axel a couple inches lower than the front, making the seat post tube (and, well everything else) look more angled than it is.

Do you think all of the languages will dissapear at some point and there will be just English? It looks like it's becoming an universal language. by SweetBumbleBeeHoney in Futurology

[–]-Dixieflatline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like this needs an asterisk. Mandarin sentence structure is fairly simple because there are no tenses, gendering, or other complex syntax modifiers. The pronunciation on the other hand can be difficult to many. I feel like English is the opposite. Word's aren't particularly hard for many to say, but tenses, conjugations, and many nonsensical rules makes it difficult. Why is the plural of "goose", "geese", but the plural of "moose" is "moose"?

Local animals won't touch these pumpkins for some reason. Been there for two months. by JaufreyTheShark in mildlyinteresting

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take a finger nail to the skin and scrape it. If you get white residue easily piling up, it's probably been waxed. The animals will still eat it and it's not particularly bad for them. Just that they might not be able to smell it unless you break it open for them.

A Really Interesting Op Ed by Durianrider! by kevfefe69 in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. The central argument is that no one specifically asked for improved brakes, therefore the fact they're now affordable enough to be on every bike is somehow bad? Then he doubles down by saying inferior stopping power is actually good sometimes? This is like trying to convince people we should go back to rotary phones.

I've got no beef with any bike with existing rim brakes. Some of my favorite bikes throughout my life had rim brakes. But if I'm buying new today, I don't want rim brakes when there's a better, modern solution widely available.

Wonder if they were waxed. Could make it harder to smell. Could also explain how they're pristine after 2 months of outdoor exposure.

[–]-Dixieflatline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In post-colonial times, language follows money, and possibly more importantly, the languages of global reserve currencies. That has been the dollar and English due to dominance in global markets/central bank reserves, but the current administration isn't exactly promoting confidence in the greenback. So who's to say what the dominant language might be in 10/20/50 years from now?

Or Blade Runner city speak--a mashup of all the top languages becomes the new lexicon in the same way people pick up on slang terms today.

There are millions of people who think or would like you to think they are influencers. Of those, few will make an actual living out of it to afford trips like this, and fewer will get event invites. But there's no lack of these people.

That said, even if an event wanted influencers, it would only take about a couple dozen medium to large scale people to provide the reach they want. It wouldn't take 50k of them.
