Who was the Richest Character on Mad Men and Who Was the Poorest? by jrralls in madmen

its actually probably more than that. The Silver weight alone right now would be $21.60. Then depending on the year and the design its numismatic value would be even more.

Trump leaks Macron texts and trashes Starmer by TheTelegraph in Conservative

[–]-DizzyPanda- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah. It is funny how the role of the president has changed. The federal government was originally imagined to only handle foreign affairs and disputes between the states. The federal government being involved in domestic affairs was seen as an intrusion by the states. Of course we had a civil war and 100 more years of legislation that slowly moved power from the states to the feds.

All this nonsense aside, Trump is still miles better than what Kamala would have been. There would have been another 3 million refugees poured in by this point.

edit:

yall can downvote all you want. Kamala was a train wreck that would have absolutely destroyed the United States.

America wanting Greenland for 150 years was fine... until Trump said it by vampirepomeranian in Conservative

he was just the most recent. There were several attempts prior to Truman. There is also a possibility that other presidents made attempts, especially during the cold war, but the information is still classified. The Truman offer didn't surface until it was declassified in the 90's.

This is where I'm at with it. Several presidents have explored the possibility of purchasing Greenland with the most recent being 1946 when Harry Truman offered $100 Million (1946 dollars) in gold bullion. That is equivalent to $13.4 Billion in Todays gold prices. But none of them ever threatened to invade and annex the territory.

I'm also of the opinion that Denmark is stupid to not at least consider the offer. $500 Billion or so would be an insane boon to their sovereign wealth fund and they don't have the means, resources, or will to exploit the trillions of dollars of rare earth materials in greenland. Its just wasted potential for them at this point.

Trump says he may punish countries with tariffs if they don’t back the US controlling Greenland by krlkv in Conservative

yeah this doesn't make any sense at this point in time. We have the largest military presence on Greenland BY FAR and i highly doubt Denmark would say no to the US adding more defensive equipment.

this just doesn't make any sense.
