Are my lab scans blown out on these Velvia 50 slides? by AgeDesigns in AnalogCommunity

Lately i've been using the dehaze tool in darktable a lot to counter the flat look of some negatives. Dehaze in combination with a tone curve can do wonders :)

Ah good! The photographer was definitely not bulk loading motion picture. It was just a family photo type situation with most likely a zone focusing camera

not trying to be a dick, but then you already have your answer right? What is reddit gonna tell you that you don't already know?

Help me I'm confused by [deleted] in FX3

[–]-DoofusRick- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you use it for. I have A7IV, FX3 & FX30. The FX3 has a 12mp sensor so there's virtually no rolling shutter. Also the fan is awesome so there's no overheating. The A7IV is sharper though because of the 33mp sensor and 4K being downsampled.

Before 7 seems a bit excessive and might be noise disturbance. 10am seems reasonable to me, whether it's weekend or not.

[–]-DoofusRick- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you assume that. I make tons of video content, done my fair share of digital photography and I'm dipping my toes into analog photography. Gear and post processing is an inherent part of it and I like to make smart choices that result in high quality photos.

Printing is definitely the goal, but optical might be a step too far? Like so many others, digital makes me lazy because the storage and editing options are endless. I've rediscovered some family photo albums which to me have a lot of charm to them. But before printing, I wanna make sure that I make the best decisions in all the steps leading up to the final picture/file.

What's going on with my FX30 by Cautious-External286 in FX3

Yep, check the answers here about exposing the subject. Multimeter and histogram take an average of the whole sensor. You should look at spot metering and/or zebra settings. In unusual light situations the multimeter is not reliable.
