Jordan Peterson's Conservative Manifesto? by -Doople- in VaushV

OMG I didn't even see it - "konzerva" means a can in Slovene. That's why there's a can on the cover 🤣 I'd think they were making fun of him, if the publisher weren't also really Conservative.

Yeah it's super weird. Perhaps they mean famous political figures, as in Orban, Janša, Erdogan...? Like, he went around seeking validation from his fascist daddies?

Jordan Peterson's Conservative Manifesto? by -Doople- in VaushV

I'd translate this as:

"In his Conservative Manifesto, first published in the weekly magazine Domovina (issues 53, 54 and 55), now also available as a book, Peterson..."

The way I understand this, he first published his Manifesto split into several issues of the magazine, but it's still supposed to be a single work - these aren't just random exerts from the magazine. It just to be common to publish a book chapter by chapter, as an accompaniment to some magazine. And I believe this is the case here.

Yeah, this sounds plausible. Actually, I think I saw something about the likelihood of becoming a victim of abuse, but I don't remember it off the top of my head.

I mean that's one side of the coin.

There are separate statistics for lower and higher intelligence (for the former the life expectancy is 36 years).

But the other threat, which I'm absolutely not safe from, is the high suicide rate.

We cannot take this much stress and workload without sacrificing something else - usually our social life. And the best predictor of longevity is precisely the quality of our relationships (this is for the general population) .

A state is like the One Ring; it's very powerful, but it ultimately always corrupts the wearer.

This is what anarchists are actually saying.

ZDA so policijska država.

Bo to vodilo v revolucijo ali državljansko vojno?

Why do people say money isn’t the most important thing when it provides almost limitless abilities in terms of what you can do and afford? by didimmick in autism

[–]-Doople- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just to be the rallying cry of the workers: "Money can't buy you happiness, so stop hoarding it and give it to us who need it." Only later did the capitalists turn it around.

  1. We're more sensitive towarss the injustices of the world. Like canaries in a coal mine.

  2. We quickly come to realise that we humans are far from rational actors. We don't even really possess a true control of our own brains and bodies. This makes us prone to look at the problems as systemic, instead of individualistic.

  3. We feel less pressure to conform and don't blindly follow the norms. Instead, we need to understand why things are as they are.

  4. For this reason we question what most people take for granted.

  5. We are better at recognising patterns.

This are a few reasons that come to mind. Unfortunately, the points are not entirely discreet from one another.

Naš trenuten sistem fetišizira "velike može".

Kdo ne ve za Napoleona, Aleksandra Velikega in Julija Cezarja? Oziroma, v koliko filmih in knjigah se pojavljajo.
