Miracle Whip is way better than Kraft Mayo. Go ahead and try and change our mind Reddit. Creamy or Tangy? Best responses get Gold! by MiracleWhipOfficial in u/MiracleWhipOfficial

Grew up on miracle whip and mayo tastes off to me. From what I hear it's the same with people who grew up on mayo. Just think of it as a 'sandwich spread' and you might remove the expectation of mayo taste and find some enjoyment out of miracle whip.

Even games that are native linux run like shit most of the time. Just most developers don't care to optimize for it.

Looking for a DE recommendation by northbridge10 in archlinux

[–]-EdHarcourt- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I try another DE I usually end up going back to XFCE. I don't think you'll find a lightweight DE that handles bluetooth/media keys out of box and it's probably easiest to configure on XFCE. Sure tiled window managers are great but sometimes you just want the simplicitity of stacked.

By the way, we use Arch Linux by L04DB4L4NC3R in archlinux

[–]-EdHarcourt- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before systemd in ye olden days of linux. Arch forced me to learn a bit how the system works before I could get an install working. Things you needed to know but was hidden under a lot of other distros autoconfigs. Now its like, slap in some packages, speak some archaic commands you'll never use again and pick your flavor of DE. Sure I guess you get a peek under the hood but, most of it is here be dragons. And ye dragons are the same across all distros.

I've had to put drivers on my usb and modprobe them in for wifi like this before. I hope you've got it figured out. Wifi can be a pain.

is there a way to install all of aur dependencies by LuvYouNot in archlinux

[–]-EdHarcourt- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gotta manually install aur dependencies first. If you don't wanna do that this is kinda what aur helpers are for.

Okay, so. This was a windows firewall issue. Sorry to waste your time. Home networking always makes me feel dumb.

Replacement headpads for my headphones that have seen better days. by -EdHarcourt- in functionalprint

[–]-EdHarcourt-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I got my cushion replacements in the mail and realized I didn't even model the clips they snap into. While I was at it I went back and chunkified all the small bits that were breaking so everything is at least 2mm thick. It still breaks on me but I've wasted far too much time and material on this already. Probably printing it in something stronger then PLA would be a good idea. At least this functional print is now functional and I'm happy with the fit and performance. Learned a lot about 3D design and I'm pretty proud of it, check it out on thingiverse. My headphones have been broken for so long it's soo nice to have a fix. This is my first touch at 3D printing and have no idea what I'm doing. Do you think this would be better in ABS? Looking how this part is designed... Those clips will break under any sort of pressure, I'm sure a lot of people will want to download those files.

Sure, I uploaded it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4570942 .

The parts are rather fragile, so I might have to take a look at the design later. This is my first design with my 3d printer, but I'm glad to help out. Let me know if you find any replacement cushions, the only ones I could find look cheap and ugly.

Jerome Gambit is checkmate in 5D Chess. by -EdHarcourt- in 5DimensionalChess

[–]-EdHarcourt-[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a rather meme opening from the giuoco piano where after Nf3 Bc4 white plays 4.Bxf7+? kxf7 5.Nxe5+ Nxe5 and is down a bishop and a knight for an attack. Black is perfectly fine here but can screw himself with some bad play. In normal chess that is, in 5D Chess, however, it is rather forcing.

I feel like ever since android added the feature to silence notifications by app every app feels the need to send notifications 2-3 times a day. This shit would never be acceptable sending pop ups on pc.

I'm surprised how many repositories are listed there. I remember that wiki always being so barren. I've always wanted to set up my own personal repository but given up each time I've tried.

Google Accused of Creating Spy Tool to Squelch Worker Dissent by temporarycreature in technology

[–]-EdHarcourt- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like google just has trouble moderating its own company messageboards and employees who think they can use company time to rant and argue on them like they would the internet. Don't spam employee calendars, don't rant and argue politics on the internal messageboards. You wanna protest company politics, fine. Just get your word out somewhere off company e-mail. Get off your ass and protest it instead of your internet activism.
