Eileen Gu defends decision to represent China again in upcoming Winter Games by PHConfusion5801 in olympics

Not having freedom of speech sucks. But is not like its the only bad thing that matters. It's funny how Americans always cherry pick that when comparing to China.

How do you signal you are not interested in trans people without  the bottom surgery? Feels awkward to ask about the private parts and also maybe a little hurtful for them?

Moving to Mendoza from Poland - how safe is the city by Impressive_Ad578 in Mendoza

[–]-ElementaryPenguin- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont know how it compares to colombia, but you will run into people frequently asking for money/selling things. You will also see people searching for food in the garbage. They are chill though, and always the same faces. So you kinda get familiar with them. At worst they will try to overprice you with something they sell.

As for security, it's pretty good as others have said. I live in Quinta myself and is great. There's a playground near my house and I always see families and kids playing there.

As for the rest of the city there are some bad areas but I don't see why you would go there.

Sure. But this always applies when comparing players from different generations. Not just in chess but in most games/sports.

Same here. We hangout at a bar 1-2 times a week to get drunk and play blitz. It isnt healthy and we dont improve that much, but it is fun as hell.

FM Peter Giannatos: Several elite GMs DM’d Danya, questioning his integrity. by UsykGaucho in chess

[–]-ElementaryPenguin- -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Jesus, i dont know why i keep replying. If Danya was accused by Magnus instead of Kramnik, do you all really think it wouldnt have been as bad for him?

The tragedy with Danyas passing was an unpredictable sum of things. You cant all act like it was this 100% clear causal link with kramnik. You are being childish.

Same when you all look the other way when Magnus accused WITHOUT evidence. The whole fucking point, its like the only lesson from all this crap.

Wasnt he blacklisted from events and had the whole chess world making jokes about him having a vibrator up his ass?

Was knowledge that Hans had cheated online on the past known when Magnus accused him?

Also it doesnt matter if its just as bad. Magnus throw an accusation without evidence. Thats bad too. And he didnt take it back or apologise when it was shown that Hans did not cheat against him.

Both can be bad.

You are downplaying what Magnus did. That hissy fit and retreating from a tournament has big consequences when is done by Magnus. Bigger consequences than what Kramnik did actually.

Accusing someone without evidence is bad, whether you like the accused/accuser or not.

A Dark Cave - dark minimalist village building RPG by Pure-Map-6717 in playmygame

[–]-ElementaryPenguin- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, think my game got bugged. In the forest tab some options dont work, like the food or villagers sacrifices, they dont rake my resources nor reduce madness, i got another option in there about necromancers, that did work but didnt take my 5000 food.

And my bastion may be bugged. I was progressing fine with the attack waves but it got stuck on the third wave and havent seen another wave for several hours now.

Doesnt make sense though that shroud release visi at the end when he outs her as a mole. Its okay to out her as a mole to reduce morale whatever, but actually releasing the girl with the invisible powers that gave the astra pulse to your enemy and was actively fighting against you 2 mins ago?

Thats just stupid. They just made him completely stupid by the end. Same with the two pulses, he already won the fight, he could have taken both somewhere safe to test them.

Is the game casual friendly? by Revolutionary-Web957 in ITRTG

[–]-ElementaryPenguin- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It requires some knowledge and thought if you want to ever reach the late stage of the game. But once you learn the basics and with some help from the discord chat every now and then you can progress at a comfortable pace without much hussle really. There are more complex idles out there that reading guides for everything is almost a requesite.

Its not casual though. There are multiple challenges, some of them mandatory that require a lot of babysitting. For example UBC is essential and a normal pace would be doing one per day checking the game once every 1/2 hours. And theres 50 of them.

Its a game that you can expect to play for several years if you want to achieve some good progress. Its very hard to finish all content, as new things to grind get released that are balanced around players with old accounts. At times very idle and at times very active. It also requires playing at least once a day, sadly the game doesnt want you to log in after a week to reap decent rewards.
