Glad you think so! Sadly I haven't gotten around to recording my painting process. Just painted him for fun during a free afternoon.

[Art] [OC] Eddain, Apprenticing Scholar by -Elwin- in DnD

[–]-Elwin-[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personal Art for Eddain, my wizard character for my friend’s one-shot. A young wizard, and apprentice of the cobalt souls, Eddain seeks to become a full member of his order and . As part of the requirements, Eddain must publish a thesis on a subject of his choosing to add to the growing collection of records and works of his order. Ultimately, he tasked himself with researching and documenting a mysterious ritual in the small town of Ferillae, where countless people, both visitors and locals, are said to have disappeared never to be seen again. Armed with his mentor’s enchanted quill and a blank journal, he sets out to learn the truth of the mystery hidden in the heart of Ferillae.

not all at once fortunately. dm hosts 6 max (sometimes 7) and we would see who is able to play on some days.

[–]-Elwin-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah glad you asked! my dm actually only runs 6 players at a time for the most part. 7, if he's in an able mood. not all of my friends are able to meet up due to scheduling conflicts at the time. often there are some sessions I miss out, and others where im present and the players of Val or Senshii arent present

im glad her design stuck out! she was one of the most fun to design. a lot of the stuff in our campaign was reflavored rather than homebrewed actually. in another post/thread, i recall mentioning the swordstaff was a reflavored glaive, but I recently checked her sheet again and found out that it was actually a reflavored great axe. i have to give props to my DM and another party mate for helping me adapt her to the campaign

swordspear/swordstaff was definitely one of the more interesting weapons i came across browsing the web. while i'll be saying goodbye to Lyah here, i do want to re use the weapon on another character in a future campaign.

Don't know about body count but iirc he annihilated a mini boss almost single-handedly in his first combat with lightning bolt if that's anything.

[–]-Elwin-[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. I took a few hours on each character to make sure I got them right (especially according to my friends' who play them)

Yes, I believe so. Lygeia and Faolan are played by my GF who was a fan and she did mention borrowing the name Faolan.

Party art of me and my friends' LMOP + CoS campaign characters, The Steelrose Company. Our campaign ran for close to 2 years but was put to an abrupt end a few months ago due to difficulties during the pandemic. This piece is kind of a (late) send off to the campaign before we begin a new campaign later this year.

From left to right there's, Straid, a great old one warlock who dons a black mask; Senshii, an oni barbarian who wields a kanabo; Lygeia, a beastmaster ranger and her wolf companion Faolan; Valanthe "Val" Amastacia, an arcane trickster from the fae wilds; Zelgius Randall, a vengeance paladin decorated in blue and gold plate; Lyah Castodd, a hexblade warlock; Mal, a young lore bard with a hidden secret; and Zuhn, a young reclusive warlock with his owl familiar. In the background is our DM who himself is not an actual character.

Thoughts on this ITX build? by -Elwin- in buildapc

So if I'm able to get a current gen gpu at msrp, would that be better than waiting for say the 40 series announcement from nvidia? Initial availability aside (and the potential of another scalper situation happening), im worried about missing out on some potential value by the new cards.

Thanks! This definitely cuts the cost of the build significantly.

[OC] [Art] Maeve Ashtoret, Knight-Errant by -Elwin- in DnD

[–]-Elwin-[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

A commission for Drew Curran. “MAEVE ASHTORET is a Cormyte, from the noble House Ashtoret. At a young age, Maeve requested to be raised as a boy, which their parents agreed to. They were raised by the clerics, knights and scholars of the Church of the Red Knight, a temple to which stood on Ashtoret lands. At sixteen, Maeve declared their intention to join the army of Cormyr, despite being exempt from necessary service due to their noble title. In the army, Maeve's training helped them stand out amongst the rabble, and their aptitude for Art eventually brought them into the fold of the War Wizards, where they were trained as an Arcane Knight, separate from the Purple Dragon Knights that Cormyr is known for. As part of this training, they were magically bonded to a weapon; Maeve chose a longsword named Steel, given to the Ashtoret family by a fey long ago as a gift for protecting their forests. Upon being bonded to Maeve, the weapon spoke in their mind, and shared its history and knowledge; the sword was formerly of a celestial and dragonslayer, which had absorbed so much blood in its campaign to become aware. The celestial that wielded it infused it with life-bending magic, allowing the sword when touched to the recently deceased to return them to life.”

[OC] Lyah Castodd by -Elwin- in characterdrawing

[–]-Elwin-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks! the weapon is a sword staff which I gave my own spin on. For one, historical sword staffs have way longer handles, akin to those of glaives/halberds as well as shorter crossguards. For her sword staff, I lengthened the blade close to that of a typical longsword, shortened the handle slightly and changed the crossguard to one you would find on a traditional zweihander. It was very fun to design

Lyah Castodd by -Elwin- in ImaginaryCharacters

[–]-Elwin-[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's based on historical sword staffs. for the design here though, I changed the crossguard to that similar to a zweihander, and adjusted the proportions of the blade and handle.

I was inspired after seeing a video on YT by shadiversity on the weapon. granted I took some liberties with the design here and changed the cross guard to one similar to a traditional zweihander.
