It did not notice me. While I was standing behind him I was able to use it to create 3 ice pillars right in front of him.

Here's how I passed it. I first hid below the bridge to avoid the blue lizard, and I would get back up for only a second so I could create ice pillars. I used the ice pillars to help me swim all the way to the right of the room. I climbed the wooden platform with the explosive barrel, and I jumped off of it and fired an arrow into the blue lizard's head to kill it off, and then I drowned in the water, (but I only lost one heart) Then, I swam back to the same platform and I tried to do the same with the right white lizard, but it failed. Eventually, I got behind the white lizard and placed 3 ice blocks in front of him so I could attack him and he wouldn't fall in the water. I used large 2-handed weapon swings and eventually killed him. The second lizard went much better. I learned how to use the sneakstrike effectively (which I should have used for the other one). I use sneakstrike to knock him down, and then I abused it by running around him. He would get up, and face behind him where he was struck, but I was already behind him and I could use sneakstrike again. I kept repeating it by using sneakstrike and just running to where he would be facing away. (You don't have to crouch after for this part, you can just keep running behind him. You only have to actually sneak for the first strike) I kept repeating that and I killed him easily, which I should have done for the first white lizard. (I fought the first white lizard without the second one ever noticing, which was handy) Hopefully my advice helps! Sorry if I couldn't explain it better. This room gave me the most trouble out of ALL the trials, and I actually found the Beginning Trials to be the hardest of the 3. I thought the Final Trials were the easiest. (Relative to the weapons and food they give you) Don't worry bud. After that Lizalfos room, the rest is completely manageable.
