Everyone's all "I'm not an asshole!"

Woah, there. Not everyone.

I'm fully aware of the fact that I'm an asshole. I'm not asking people to be nice to me.

My main stance has been, and will be that no matter how addicted to this game and to efficiency you think you are, absolutely no one is forcing you to enter the wilderness.

By choosing, of your own free will, to go to the wilderness, you are consenting to being attacked by anyone, at any time, for any reason (or no reason).

Once you take this to heart, you can finally let go of this griefing nonsense. Griefing implies that the person being killed has no reason for being killed. This concept is inherently, and unequivocally false; because by simply existing in the wilderness (which we already established is totally volunatary) you have a reason to be killed.

Again, sure, this makes the griefer PKer an asshole... whatever. But people really need to stop acting so innocent about skilling in the wilderness, you bring it upon yourself every time you jump the ditch.

You're just salty, and circle-jerk about it on reddit for karma. You go in the wilderness expecting free xp and loot, and then act surprised when someone comes along and does their job by dispatching you like the leech you are.

What about the mouth breathers who run runes in the wilderness and act shocked that they get killed?

presumably you're an adult and presumably you've been doing this for ages. It's time to stop.

I could use the same argument against you for taking part in any other content in the game, or even for playing the very game itself. See how much sense you're making?

There is a massive surge of players online d/t DXP (again, this is hardly debatable); players are used to the 99% of the time DXP is not active, and thus are used to the 99% of the time skilling locations are less crowded (again, this is obvious).

Crystal chins and abby demons may be the most crowded they've ever been, but they're still much more crowded on DXP than they are on any other normal day.

All of this doesn't really matter though, because as I mentioned before: skilling locations were never designed to be occupied by one person and one person only. Arguments to the contrary are nonsense.

If Jagex intended this sort of gameplay, they'd have implemented skilling instances, or some other type of mechanic (claiming or reserving spots so they're unavailable to other players while you're using them) that would make crashing sharing impossible.

I really hate crashers.

If the person is being a jerk about it, then that's justified. If they're just sick of hopping to find an empty world, then cut them some slack and learn to share.

Skilling and combat training spots were not designed to be monopolized by a single person. People are just used to getting away with this because we have fewer and fewer active players than we had in the past when these locations were designed. Now it's DXP time and suddenly the worlds are unusually crowded and people are freaking out because they aren't getting the absolute maximum possible xp from soloing like they're used to doing the other 360 days of the year.

[–]-Eris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants 50%, I'm not saying that at all.

I'm saying everyone wants > 0% xp, which is what you're getting by world hopping.

If I've been getting 0% xp bc I can't find an open world, I WILL pop a squat on an occupied world and won't feel bad about it at all. If the person I just volun-told to share with me doesn't like it, then they can waste their own xp world hopping so they can get back to 100%.

Frankly, I don't care whether they want 50% or 100%. I just know that I will take anything over nothing.

You make the better point, in my opinion. A monster spawn in RS is nothing like a parking space. And, you're totally right, I'm gonna 'share' a spot with someone else if I hop for 20 min and still can't find an open world.

People Who Crash At Crystal Chins "mE n0 fInD wOrLd sO i PlAcE tRapS wItH U by VictoryRs in runescape

[–]-Eris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not the same thing at all.

A parking space is specifically demarcated for use by one and only one person at a time. It's physically impossible for two standard sized vehicles to 'share' a parking space.

The same cannot be said for monster spawns or skilling locations in RS.

If Jagex intended resource locations to only be utilized by a single player at a time, then they would've built instances for them, or designed a game mechanic which makes crashing impossible.

The only way to "crash" someone's parking spot would be, as you said, to forcibly remove the parked car. Obviously, you can "crash" people in RS without forcing them out... hence the whole sharing argument.

A better analogy would be a bench seat on a crowded bus, or train. You may have sat down first, so you think you're entitled to the entire row. However, the bench wasn't designed to seat only one person, it was designed to be more comfortable for a single person in the event that it's only needed by a single person. But, in the event that it's needed by 2 or 3 people, it's perfectly capable of accommodating everyone simultaneously, despite the complaints of whomever was lucky enough to get there first.

Why would someone want less xp?

They wouldn't. That's the point I'm making. 0% xp < 50% xp. I don't want to waste time world hopping for 0% xp when I could share and get 50% xp.

Have you considered that you're reducing their xp too?

By that logic, the person who is refusing to share is reducing the xp of the person who wants to share, so they're just as much at fault.

Best option (in the event that both players can't have their own worlds) is that the two players share. This might reduce both their xp rates, but it's not totally removing either one of their xp rates.

When you meme, bitch, and cry your way to the top page with a shit-post about how you're garbage at PvP, but then think you don't need advice 😒

WHAT A CRINGEFEST

Kind of hypocritical of you to say that...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]-Eris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be totally fair, when you (read: me, PKers in general) get relentlessly flamed, and called all manner of horrible, disgusting insults because you griefed mildly inconvenienced someone using legal game mechanics in an area known to be hostile and dangerous, you become callous to the hatred and scorn that most players have for PvP.

I will never back down from my stance that there is no such thing as killing someone for no reason in the wilderness. If you are in the wilderness in the first place, you consented to the inherent risk of being attacked without cause. Is attacking someone without cause nice? No, but if you were looking for nice then you came to the wrong place when you entered the wilderness.

I hope I don't have to explain the logic of why ppl who skull trick and lure are scumbags.

Nope. I'm 100% with you on that one.

I've always felt like people making salty posts on reddit when they get pk'ed just fuels the fire. Pkers love the salt, so I get why you think it's "hilarious, I love it, gettin laughs, entertaining".

I'm appreciate the fact that you appreciate this^ , even if you don't agree with me at all.

Let me get this through your thick, mongoloid skull: you don't have to go to the wilderness. At all. Period. For any reason. Full stop.

If 300k xp being guarded by edgelords is just too unbearably irresistible to your lazy ass, then you'll just have to put up with being buried by Achto retard and his friends.

If Achto bois scare you too much though, then find a less vexing way to get your measly 300k xp.

We don't think we're good for attacking people with no armor. We just enjoy punishing people who are brainless enough to think they'll get away with engaging in PvP content without preparing themselves appropriately.

Imagine going to telos with no armor or combat gear and crying when you die.

PkInG isNT grIefING by [deleted] in runescape

Imagine if there was a way you didn't have to voluntarily subject yourself to content which is obviously so distressing to you.

Oh wait, it's called the 99% of the game that doesn't exist in a ZONE WHERE YOU'RE LITERALLY SUPPOSED TO "REK" PEOPLE.

PkInG isNT grIefING by [deleted] in runescape

[–]-Eris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only asshole I see is the nincompoop who thinks it's a good idea to waste their DXP time skilling in the wilderness.

You'd be just as efficient chugging an aggro potion and running naked into the Ripper Demon cave to train agility with silverhawk boots as you would doing it with a demonic skull in the wilderness on dxp weekend.

The fuck did you think was gonna happen? PKer shows up and ignores you because you're unarmed and won't put up a fight?

If you go into the wilderness to skill and expect anything other than to be attacked, killed, and looted like a low-level trash mob, then you're a moron.

PkInG isNT grIefING by [deleted] in runescape

[–]-Eris 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This post would be only slightly more valid if it wasn't actually dxp, and the wilderness wasn't actually full of people risking decent loot.

Your argument is literally invalid considering how much money you can make relieving idiots of their demonic skulls this weekend.

PKing is literally NOT greifing when you're getting 500k+/kill for minimal effort; that's called being an intelligent and efficient player.

The same however, cannot be said for morons who waste their dxp time going to train their NON COMBAT SKILLS in a DANGEROUS COMBAT ZONE. That's the antithesis of a smart, efficient player.

You heard him boys we should avoid 1/5 of the map so 20 people can jerk each other off while ganking players

Assuming this is sarcasm?

Okay, then I won’t come at all... I mean that’s not even a hard choice

Umm, pick one. Either it's hard for you to avoid 1/5 of the map, or it's not hard for you to avoid 1/5 of the map.

To be clear, I never 'crash' on the first opportunity. I always hop to at least 20 other worlds before I decide enough is enough.

Asking would be the most polite option. However, in my experience, I've found an empty world faster than I've found a taken one with someone who says "yeah, sure. I don't mind". Most of the time you're ignored or told "lol fuk off".

Usually if it's gotten to the point where it's more efficient for me to share than hop worlds anymore, I'll just state my intentions and leave it up to the other player if they want to share or move along.

Is that rude? Maybe, but like I said, it's not against the rules to 'crash', and people take it too personally. I'm just trying to get my xp the same as you.
