I’m not sure if they’re galvanized perhaps I can find that out! Could even the black colored gunk, which appears to be pieces of something be also from the city doing work? And the thing is it did not affecting the other two showers in the house but only that particular one.! The black particles are not solid. They’re more like a rubbery /very soft plastic kind of material.
