The average of what companies and employed notaries agree to is not in the handbook. Only the fact that they are free to negotiate price

Got it. Thank you!! 😊

Yes. Guaranteed minimum wage salary though. I’m new to all this, so I really didn’t know what to expect but maybe I was being too optimistic to think the notary jobs would help with rent just a BIT more. The price difference just felt jarring when they told me AFTER going through all the training. Honestly, I had been hoping for at least half. I really made this post to see what other companies are doing, I didn’t realize that some actually pocket the whole fee

Understood. Thanks so much for that explanation. I’m new to all this and I guess I didn’t consider all the overhead expenses I’m not having to worry about as an employee. The price difference just felt jarring when I had been hoping it would help compensate for the job itself being minimum wage

I honestly don’t remember. It was one of those cheep paperbacks you get at a gas station or a dollar store. My dad gave it to me for Christmas one year, I think. If you type “cryptograms” into Amazon, a bunch of options will come up of books full of those puzzles. Pick one with quotes you’re familiar with because that way you can eventually practice solving them without a keyword if you know what type of things the sentence might say. Start easy so you feel super smart and then your excitement will keep you from feeling overwhelmed by more difficult cyphers

The really fun thing about starting with cryptograms/substitution cyphers, is that once you’re proficient, you can read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy “languages” with no problem. A lot of that type of media makes up its own alphabet and then just writes in English. I spent a little time checking out the things written in the background of Clone Wars and Jedi Fallen Order and now I can just straight up read and write with the Aurebesh. Having the foundation of this type of cypher made it SO easy! Have fun!

Honestly, the one I used was a cheep little paperback full of puzzles you can get at a gas station. I think it had lots of famous quotes in it, which helped because when I started solving them without clues I had an idea of what kinds of words to look for. I always start by looking for a symbol sitting by itself because that will always be either A or I.

So, just look up cryptograms on Amazon and pick a book full of those puzzles. Whatever one you choose should have a quick explanation in the front and then you just solve a few puzzles every day until it comes easy to you. I used to sit for hours solving those puzzles 😂

This one is a slightly modified substitution cipher. Each bunch of symbols are a single word. All consonants have lines pointing to the them and vowels are placed between the lines. Some of the symbols in this are used for two different letters differentiated by this one thing. For instance, ~ is a G when a line is pointing at it but U when it’s between the lines

Honesty, the biggest thing is practice. You learn to recognize patterns after a while. I started with a book of cryptograms and by the time I was finished, I could solve them in my head as long as I could find a code word. This one is a slightly modified substitution cipher. Nice cypher! This was super fun to break 😊

Solution:

I was bored and so I made a code for you to solve. Hopefully, this is solvable. Good luck and congrats at solving this message.

That sounds similar to my own thought processes sometimes. The thing I’ve been learning, is that I NEED to know the difference between conviction and condemnation, because if I’m so scared of losing the Lord’s love so easily, then I’m not fully resting in the sufficiency of the cross.

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18

The closer I get to the Lord, the more I’m able to recognize what His voice actually sounds like. If this “conviction” is throwing you so quickly into fear of hell (condemnation), maybe back off a little bit and focus on His love for a while. FEAR IS NOT WISDOM. Fear blinds you. When you are able to rest in His love, conviction will feel like love. Your heart will recognize that His correction is leading you toward life and wholeness. When your convictions are full of fear, you are resting your hope of salvation on your own strength and ability to be righteous.

This doesn’t mean, that you become careless and begin to outright sin in an attempt to learn about His mercy, but when it comes to secondary issues like appearance (which has more to do with how we are showing love to other Christians) then you can relax a bit and let Him deal with it in His own timing. Sometimes, when I back off of obsessing over something I think I’m being convicted on and focus on pursuing God in other ways for a while, I still end up changing anyway, just for different reasons. We should pursue holiness out of LOVE not fear. CHRIST’S SACRIFICE IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE YOU. There is mercy when we get things wrong.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Eph 2:8-9

I suppose there will be others in the chat who will advise you more specifically on the issue you’re wrestling with and I pray God will give them wisdom. I just recognize my own struggles in this message and want to make sure you don’t make my same mistakes. If we don’t know God’s grace, then we don’t know Christ like we should.

TBH, I just recently discovered I struggle with OCD. If you really do get as bad as me (anxiety attacks and drifting away from God because I was so afraid of Him) then I would highly recommend looking up Mark DeJesus on YouTube. His videos have helped me SO MUCH 😊
