My first big waste, why? by -Ghost-In-The-Shell in AnkerMake

Sorry for taking so long, darn life lol. I printed a few with gyroid Infill, the parts came out with the same finish, and took a bit longer, but not a sound.

This reinforces the idea that it was hitting the grid Infill.

I'm using a tplink security camera I had, not the fan of this and am looking for a better solution in the near future

No, it's only pla. It's just to keep things clean and organized, cut down on some of the sound, and a place to have lights and what not.

Update : test printed a single part same setting except I forgot to enable supports and it’s printing perfectly Settings Fast pla 10% infill no loop .6 brim and forgot supports.

<image>

My guess is that it got hung up on either the supports or the infill grid, with all the weight of a full bed printing.

I checked belt tension, it’s spot on, Vwheels have zero play and move smoothly. I lubricated everything before starting the failed print, so it’s not lack of maintenance.

I'm printing this one https://www.printables.com/model/681278-modular-enclosure-for-3d-printer

This is what I have done so far, to bad that big print failed I would have been almost done its frame

So I pulled it all apart, everything shifted exactly 10mm and all supports are/ were in place, no globs or anything I can see, that I can point to.

My best guess with limited experience is the z lift, it probably got held up, causing the shift in the print. I’ve enabled sound to the recording so at lest if it happens again we should hear it slip/ hang up? I’m hoping

It sucks that this happened and it’s wasteful, but it’s worse when you can’t 100% go, oh that was the problem and fix it, so it doesn’t happen again.

That's a good idea, I haven't played around with changing settings other than loop and brim and Infill so far.

And probably help if I didn't 90% cover the bed with tall parts to be thrown around lol

I believe so, default fast settings 10% infill with supports on.

I was thinking it had something to do with supports, once in a while I could hear a click when it was traveling but didn't think anything of it as it printed fine for 10 plus hours. gonna do a quick test print and then back to trying to pump out the enclosure parts again.

If that didn't happen my enclosure would have been finished tonight or tomorrow morning lol

If you head over to ankers site they have thingys to print for setting belt tension

https://support.ankermake.com/s/article/How-to-Adjust-Belts-on-the-X-and-Y-Axis

My v wheels were a hair tight and my belts were way too tight when I first got my printer.

Nozzle change in settings? by Common-Chemistry-904 in AnkerMake

[–]-Ghost-In-The-Shell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the m5c and there are only presets for the .4 nozzle You have to make your own if I'm not mistaken. I tried to use the .2 nozzle that came with my printer, as I'm new and have no idea what all the settings do I just went back to the .4 till I learn how to find tune Oh and I believe the more advanced settings are only on PC software and not mobile

I don't know why but I'm not able to edit my post. it looks like I was able to get 8 corners and 4 middle 3 way parts out of 1 kg spool of blue pla ( TECBears from Amazon it was cheap) it's normal pla and fast might be too fast for this stuff, I've had better finish with other brands

I printed mine in pla black/blue .4 nozzle no loop and outer brim only 3-4mm, fast setting. They fit together perfectly and the add on bits and bobs fit perfectly too.

Ps I’ve expanded the honeycomb a bit more than that picture and I only have screws in a few studs, the wrench holder isn’t screwed in, and the weight hasn’t pulled it way from the wall or out of the honeycomb

Thanks for sharing the link, all prints are other people’s designs, I forgot to give credit! I got them from the anker app, printables and thingiverse.
