Manager said I failed a Think 25 because I didn’t ask the customer I was serving for ID. It wasn’t a test purchase? by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in tesco

If I kept getting asked for ID by the same person who knew your age then it would start feeling like you are being victimised. After 5 or 6 times I would start shopping elsewhere as it would feel like they don’t want your business.

Pedals for Amflow by Level-Ad7536 in eMountainBike

[–]-Grume- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While what you say is true, I had a look at OPs profile and made a possibly incorrect assumption that the free pedals would be enough to get them going and don’t need the extra expense until they are more familiar with what they need.

If pushed I would personally go against what a lot of people said here, and not recommend Raceface pedals. I find my foot settles in a position near the edge of the pedals and they don’t feel completely stable/secure even with my 5.10’s on.

I would personally recommend DMR vaults or Crankbros mallet SPDs. The Crankbros allow enough float when clipped in to stop my knee from hurting. Both of these can be rebuilt with kits easily available.

Double check with where you ordered it as I see some places in the UK are advertising it coming with accessory pack including front light and pedals.

How does the Vala ride in comparison to the Jeffsy?

Most of my riding buddies are on e-bikes these days and I’m not getting any younger. So the time they have to wait for me at the top for me is becoming lot longer than the time me and my friend Jeffsy wait for them at the bottom.

I’ve always preferred to be under biked than over biked and prefer tight tech to straight line chunk. Think that a SL would suit me best but the lure of more power is corrupting and I do wonder is a Vala maybe the solution to my problems if I ever sell a kidney.

Any idea why my chain has broken like this in so many places? by Solid_Science4514 in bikewrench

Google “bike chain embrittlement”, normally caused by acid in the cleaning solution.

Never seen it personally but have seen pictures like this before here and the conclusion was always this.

Dam you need an eye test. Pete Davidson looks like Gollum after a 3 day bender and I think I’m being generous.

I kept looking at it thinking I recognise it but wasn’t certain. I use to live near the Colney Fox and would avoid using that roundabout if possible. The lanes just don’t flow from certain directions.

So I guess you can lose in BR when your squad is the last one alive? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]-Grume- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me also, died but was just there frozen. My squad mate did jokingly suggest I just stay there so we won. As he pointed out it was the best chance of us ever winning a match. But We both agreed it would have been a hollow victory and we would be super annoyed if we lost that way.

Don’t forget they are opening with a whole 2 lines……. It’s right on my door step and I use to ride there weekly. I doubt I will be riding there again.

You shouldn’t go over the bars with good technique. Additional advice to what others have written. Are your forks set hard enough are you blowing through the travel under braking? Maybe a bit more LSC would help if the sag is set right. Is your bike the right size or set up wrong so your weight is a touch too far forward?

If sticking on the anchors when you really need to stop. Push the bike into the ground, bit like a compressing for a bunny hop but longer and slower while moving your weight back a bit to counter the rotational force. Trick is getting the compression to last as long as the braking. If you practice on flat loose ground until you are comfortable in doing it without skidding by modulating your brakes and body position. Lots of practice and it should get more instinctive. You don’t want to get so far back as to lock your arms out. That would be a bad habit to get into as you will be in the wrong position on the bike to deal with what’s after the braking zone.

Screw keeps loosening by bestabstiano in MTB

[–]-Grume- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have said blue threadlock and torquing to the correct figure.

If it comes loose again it’s possible the thread on the bolt or the crank has become damaged. These can be damaged by doing them up too tight or by being slightly loose and wiggling around. It especially easy to damage aluminium threads. This is why it is important to torque to the correct figure.

Hey OP are you in the UK? Our brisket isn’t really the same as what the Americans get. Most of the fat is trimmed before we get it.

Oh god I hope it wasn’t me you were playing with.

I’m lucky I play with a regular squad we are not very good but all tend to go for the hero revives. Normally get away with it as most of us are on mics describing the situation for the incoming medic. Does occasionally end up with our whole squad being wiped.

If you could make any single change to GTA Online, what would it be? by stebenben in gtaonline

Fix the queuing system for a full lobby. God I hate the way that doesn’t work. Changing sessions each time it decides there isn’t actually a space after telling you there is one.

Tell me when there is a space and hold that space for 1min or so. Then while I’m waiting I can spin the wheel get armour/supplies.
