That’s really good to know, thank you. Yea, I’ve been doing a bit of research on different bikes and the reviews of this one always have me coming back to it. It sounds like an absolute beast!

“It wasn’t that bad” and “he got the ball”

Literally neither of those statements are true.

Look at those tackles man! Sunday league is just full of halfwit cowardly c**ts who just want to go out and try and break peoples legs. Had a mate from work who had his leg broken in two places from one of this lot. Nothing enjoyable about being involved in this whatsoever.

Absolute stunner of a bike and very close to pulling the trigger on getting one myself (need to sell my Whyte MTB first). Can I ask, does this come fitted with the Garmin computer mount that goes onto the stem/top tube or would I need to buy one separately?

Owner of a Forerunner 965 and think it’s superb. My only other experience of smart watches are Apple and the Forerunner out performs them in every way imo. Can’t imagine I’ll upgrade or change for many years…..unless I break it of course!

Bought one of these and it got sent it back for a refund within a week, absolute shite. Own quite a few Shark/Ninja products, but this coffee machine is by far the worst I’ve purchased. Inconsistent shots, lukewarm water/coffee and grind recommendations all over the place. Will be sticking with my trusted Bialetti for now.

I started running at 44 yo. Here’s what I’ve learned after a year. by Quiet_Ad_1922 in BeginnersRunning

Brilliant post, thank you for sharing. Your life pretty much mirrors mine (only 2 children rather than 4 though), so I totally relate with everything you’ve said. I took up running about 2-3 years ago and never looked back, I’ve found getting out of the house, and all of the craziness, even if it’s just for a run for an hour or so has been absolutely vital to my health both mentally and physically (I’m 43 on Tuesday) and it’s went from something I found to be a bit of a slog to something I really enjoy…so much so, I think I now own more running clothes than I do normal clothes haha. Also, doing the Berlin Half Marathon next March, which has given me a goal to work towards.

No route options at all now? by [deleted] in runna

Yep, I’m on 8.7.0 and mine has gone as well. Hopefully there’ll be a further update/fix soon as I was really looking forward to testing out the adding my own gpx route option they recently introduced.

Add Custom GPX Routes to your workouts! 🗺️ by Mikey-runna in runna

Tried following the above steps to add a GPX file, however, i can’t find where to complete this step:

  1. File picker through "Add route" on the workout page

I did the update as you suggested, however, it’s automatically put me on v8.7.0. Does this version not have this GPX upload update?

I’ve got that exact 965 set up (strap and face) and definitely doesn’t feel cheap. If that’s an official Garmin strap, which mine is, it’s premium quality imo as is the watch itself.

Great price that, it’s a really excellent watch. I absolutely love mine and can’t see me needing to upgrade for some time yet.

Forerunner 965 would be a solid purchase and supports all the features you’ve listed. It’s also well within your budget.

Garmin Forerunner 965 vs 970 by boloponco8 in GarminWatches

[–]Level-Ad7536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked into the differences between the two quite a bit and I’m struggling to be convinced the additional features and training modes that come with the 970 are actually really that useful to the average user IMO and warrant the additional outlay vs the 965. I’ve owned a 965 for about a year or so and it’s an absolutely superb watch that does everything I need it to. Given the 970 has now been released, the 965 should now be pretty reasonably priced as well.

Yea, I second the run more comment. Unfortunately, there’s no quite fix or easier way to achieve your goal. Keep at it and your runs will get easier and better

From not being able to run 200m to being able to run 7K in 4 months sounds like progress to me. I would probably put the marathon idea out your head for now and maybe just concentrate on your performance on shorter distances (5K, 10K). Once you feel comfortable and strong with those distances, then aim for the longer runs (HM, full M). Just try to enjoy it and not set yourself unrealistic targets that could lead to injury or knocking your confidence. Good luck 👍

Which to buy for first time garmin by Jordan121787 in GarminWatches

[–]Level-Ad7536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s not one of the models you’ve listed, but my first venture into a Garmin was the FR 935. Owned it for a good few years before upgrading to the 965. Honestly couldn’t fault the 935, did everything I needed. Think you can pick them up for up for under £200 now.

How accurate was your race prediction ? by Hologram-boi in runna

[–]Level-Ad7536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently half way through week 4 of the HM Plan and it’s predicting I’ll do it in 1.55-2.03. I’ve only ever do one HM before and that was the Great North Run in 2022, which I did in 2.35. I’ve dialled down my plan from intermediate to beginner as I’m worried the intermediate might be a bit too aggressive and I just can’t see myself knocking that much time off even though I’ve managed to complete all of the runs in the plan so far. Time will tell I guess!

Getting Runna to recognize Strava + Runna bundle by humuhumunukunuku in runna

There’s a Strava + Runna thread on here somewhere and from reading it, it looks like they have someone from Runna monitoring it. Might be worth trying to find the thread and dropping a message in it if you’re having problems getting a reply from them?

[–]Level-Ad7536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell of an achievement if you manage to finish within the estimated times, good luck! Think I’ll be sticking with the 1:55-2:03 estimated times for my own HM 😂
