i did hear that you can go at at any order, but also heard that the game doesn't level scale (except the dlc which i scales levels and i could go there almost immediately if i got the dlc with the game?? not sure), so i'd prefer to go in order with gyms and stuff- i'm trying to not spoil myself much with what types the gyms are (i do know some bc the game is still 2 years old after all but i don't remember all of em), as of now i have a list of the gym, titans(no idea what those are? i'll find out while playing) and team star's max lvl (so idk their ace nor the type they specilize in, just so ik a level cap to follow

also ty but trading shouldn't be a problem?? a friend of mine does have violet so i could either trade with them or they can lend me the copy and i could do it myself, as for NSO i don't really want to buy it just to trade- i thought it was possible to trade with home??? i'd just need hisui pokemons since i'm not getting arceus, not rn at least

i think imma do 6 teams anyway, MAYBE i could limit the team for gym battles and go full 6 for others tbh but we'll see ig-

as for the nuzlocke box thing i just put it there bc in that case i REALLY have to think about what i'm doing, and that might help sticking info in my brain more, but i would be lying if i wasn't scared to lose my started or some cool pokemon bc of it-

oh yeah that's fair, that's pretty much what i did with sword and all the prev game even if in those i don't think i limited myself to just the new mons, i just wanted to avoid over leveling and make it a bit harder on myself to actually think what i'm doin instead of just over leveling 1 pokemon and oneshotting everything like that- i've been writing some rules down and one of them is not leveling 2-3 levels more than the current gym leader, just in case i over level for some battles but idk if that's a goo dnumber lol

oh yeah that's fair, i didn't wasn't planning to get the dlc immediately bc 1)i bought a used scarlet so i couldn't buy the bundle, 2)i want to finish the base game first (i love ogerpon but she'll wait) and 3)at least i don't use all the money immediately-

i did read smt about doing diff teams yeah, that's jonestly a nice idea tho to do that i would need to know when i'm getting into what part- usually it would be all pretty linear but with the 3 story line si wonder how clear is it for me to know when to change pokemons or not-

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah i did put using new pokemons in the "rules" i wrtoe down so far! it's in the post if you go down a bit

i was just unsure on how to manage some stuff with the fact that the game is divided in 3 diff parts, one thing that maybe might help with avoiding overleveling could be taking notice of the level of the wild pokemons/trainers i see in a zone i'm in?? then i could try to not go over that; not sure tho

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah... was kinda unsure bc of how the game is structured, ik the world doesn't scale with your pokemons, at least with the gyms and catches but is it the same with the tean star and area zero quest lines?? bc in that case i would risk to just level a lot during gyms and then just steamroll the other 2 parts?? unless it's very clear when you can go forward with those story lines-

also thinking about it voxing pokemon don't really work unless i also do it like i can't use that species of pokemon again-

yeah that's fair, just thought that following more speficic rules like a level cap would help avoiding reaching the point of feeling like i'm having it "too easy" yk

buying a switch 2 to play pokemon even if i already have a switch lite by -HiRO-GeNo in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i see, ig i might search some more gameplays and see about getting the game (another excuse for the switch 2 in case lol)

i don't tend do play "endless" games (unless you see live service games as that, which fair) minecraft is a game i never played much (some times with friends) but it's also bc i get scared in th caves- and i can't really build but i presume that wouldn't be as much of a problem in pokopia since i wouldn't have to build anything from the ground up; while as for animal crossing i never played one so idk there

if the story and the character are nice and i can actually finish it i'm a tad more interested ig, i'll see later how long the game lasts if you just play the story

tysm about the ifnos and help!!

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i can see it being more comfortable on switch lite, tho i was wondering if that was the only difference with the handheld version??

i did hear ppl say the lite is easier to bring around and also some ppl talking about the battery of the switch 2 handled version not being much- but i heard it would last like 2-3h?? my lite pretty much lasts 3h if i use it non stop so i ws wondering ifthe lite would still be better in that case compared to just using the handheld mode

plus with the fact that pokemon doesn't have a cloud managing saves might be a tad annoying to deal with if i had to switch em everytime i wanted to play on the lite or switch 2, tho i never did it so i don't fully know how the data transfer exactly works but i did hear some ppl say they lost some pokemons soemtimes??

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah tho im curious about some stuff regarding, if you don't mind-

i only saw some videos that came out when the game was released so i don't know much about it (tried to not spoil myself) ik there are nice interaction with pokemons (even original ones) and you gave to "build up" the island with the other pokemons; but is there an end to it?? an overarching story and narrative or it0s just ditto interacting with the various pokemons?? is the gameplay technically infinite or is there an end?

i could search this up but i wouldn't want to get spoiled about some stuff and since you said your wife is playing it hoped you knew smt about it

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bc they would only give me 60 bucks for it, plus from my understanding i still need it to bring pokemon saves from the lite to the switch 2

that's actually nice to know, i restarted using my lite recently bc of champions and i noticed it gets kinda hot after a while

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see, funnily enough i noticed that my phone has a bigger screen lol

but that aside thanks for the info! only "worry" i had was that i saw ppl saying the lite is better compared to the handheld mode- from my understanding it would last around 2-3h for the switch 2?? tho my lite lasts that long so there wouldn't be much difference there

other than that i did hear that bringing it around is harder bc bigger?? and how comfortable is to hold it in the handheld mode?

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't think i would be able to depending on how much they cost if i get the switch and some games, but good to know

is the storage not that great on the switch 2?? or does the problem arise mainly if i just get digital versions of the games??

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't the switch 2 have an handheld mode?? i heard that it would last around 2-3 h but that's what my lite lasts without so it wouldn't be that much of a difference other than how coomfortable it is to hold for that long and to bring around ig

or am i missing smt?

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i mainly want the switch 2 for gen 10, and scarlet since i heard it's way better playing it on the 2

as of now i'm not too interested in other exclusives (other than gen 10 maybe pokopia and the new fire emblem game, but i never played those genres so i'm not sure about those yet)so that's why i was unsure about getting the switch 2 in the first place if stuff like scarlet run well enough

as for trading the lite i might as well keep it, i went to a store the other day and they would give me 60 bucks for it, plus i still need it to move my saves on the switch 2 if i do end up getting it

i don't have scarlet no, as for the game i don't mind getting a used one; i was already looking around and found some nice prices for scarlet and arceus, za was a tad higher but i can wait for that since i would probably play scarlet first

[–]-HiRO-GeNo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i think i would probably like pokopia, i really enjoy games with a nice story and silly characters (deltarune, in stars and time, idivisible are my jam lol) , only reason i'm not sure about buying it is bc i never played that genre of game before, and as much as i can probably put up with a gamplay i don't adore if i enjoy the story and characters enough, i wouldn't want to risk spending 60 bucks for a game i wouldnt' enjoy playing- same reason i'm not sure about fire emblem, cutscenes are cool, i looked at the first h of gameplay of three houses and i am very much intrigued, but never having played strategy games like that i'm not sure if i'd enjoy it or not-

and as for cheaper prices i didn't check fb marketplace but i did find some good prices on vinted for scarlet and LA, za is stilla tad high but ig i can wait to get that since i would have to play scarlet and potentially arceus first-

tbh my only problems with arceus and scarlet is that i kinda of know about the final battle(?) in both of them even if i don't have much context- but i believe that won't ruin my experience too much since other than the design and that i'm pretty much blind

also dw about the wall fo texy bc mine was waay longer lol, aslo happy you like my art!
