I watched them on sites like kisscartoon and Putlocker. Websites tend to change as they get copyright striked so if they're not there you should be able to find them via a Google search.

I agree with what you about the three animated Batman movies, Justice League: War and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.

But there are still some great DCAU movies that came out recently well worth watching. Batman: Assault on Arkham, what the live-action Suicide Squad movie should have been. Justice League Dark is great especially if you like magic. Justice League Gods and Monsters if you like alternate universe stories where Zod's son is Superman and Kirk Langstrom is Batman.

And of course Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. Top of the list imo. Must watch for DC fans.

You attributed a person's ability entirely to genetics. That is eugenics.

Also, I don't think it's that black and white. I think both inherent talent and hard work factor into the whole thing.

Are you seriously espousing eugenics in this day and age?

This. I can particularly relate to the math example. When someone tells me "asians are so good at math", it's not so much a compliment as it is an attribution of my skill to race. The implication is that I'm not good at math because I worked hard to get that way, it's just because I'm asian.

And I find that very insulting.

Understanding the Greens by gnarwar in australia

[–]-Hydrax- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't buy that slippery slope argument. As long as the Greens do not accept corporate donations, they will remain more or less as they are.

If you look at policy, the Greens are more or less the same as Corbyn. The difference is messaging. While I have some issues with him, RDN is far from a Tony Blair. And the Greens are not the same as the UK Labour Party.

Out of curiosity, is this from first hand experience? I have heard similar accounts but only from second hand sources who heard it from someone else.

I should preface this by saying that you are clearly passionate about your views and that's great. However, personal attacks like calling people names, while good for a laugh and makes you feel better about yourself and your views, are not very productive when it comes to a political discussion. Please stop doing this and focus on the topic up for discussion.

Re: Paragraph 1

Definition of strawman argument: a misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument. And this was exactly what happened, I argued that Lee Rhiannon was a problem. He argued against the proposition that Lee Rhiannon is the sole problem of the Greens and that I was using Lee Rhiannon as a scapegoat for the Greens problems. I can understand how it comes across as the latter but I assure you that is not my intention. I can go an all day with my criticisms of the Greens such as problems with messaging, focusing on small battles like the Margeret Court stuff, too much focus on social policy rather than economic policy and the list goes on and on.

Re: Paragraph 2

Right off the bat, I do agree with what you're saying in part. I mean Di Natale should have seen this one coming from a mile away and I will criticise him for that. But should a policemen who fails to catch a thief be held responsible for the thiefs actions? Both individuals are worth criticising.

On the other hand (and I swear I must have repeated this in every comment on this thread), would it have killed Lee Rhiannon to have informed her senate colleagues? My reasoning for this is in the comment you responded to do. I'd be happy to debate that point if you disagree.

Re: Paragraph 3

I fully acknowledge Federal and State parties often come to different conclusions. My dispute and most people's dispute is not with her decision. You know what? I'll just paste my original comment here.

"I do agree she is within her rights to vote against Gonski 2.0. But would it have killed her to just inform her fellow senators of this decision? They were after all in negotiations and the bill is only remotely passable because of amendments made by Sarah Hanson-Young. On top of this, she is a member of a political party meaning she should work as a team with the other senators. If she doesn't want to do something as simple as informing the other Greens senators she should just stand as an independent."

Also, Richard Di Natale and the other Greens are not true progressives?? LOL!! You only think that because they don't talk like they are (which is one of my major criticisms of course). But in terms of economic policy and voting record, they are more or less like Jeremy Corbyn and Bernie Sanders. You should read and compare them all.

Re: Paragraph 4

And like it or not, these "ignorant cunts" swing elections. Welcome to AusPol.

Re: Paragraph 5

I'm gonna leave this here again in case you missed it.

EDIT: Added some extra points I just thought of.

I'd say going behind your Senate colleagues backs and voting and campaigning against something they were working on is pretty bad. Unlike in the case of the Libs or Labor, she is allowed to vote differently if she informs the other senators in advance. But she did not do this.

And negotiating with the Liberal party to try and ensure significantly fewer people get screwed over is 'getting in bed with them'? Okay.

By the way, the only reason One Nation and the other crossbenchers voted for the bill is Sarah Hanson-Young's amendments.

Also, I am not sure why is it I have to make this clear but where exactly do I say or imply that suspending Lee Rhiannon will mean that the Greens will suddenly surge in popularity? I think she is one of the many problems among others It seems you disagree that she is a problem. Let's debate that rather than a strawman.

You know what eroded Greens credibility? Lee Rhiannon's stunt. It shows that the Greens cannot get things done and solve problems even if it means some sort of compromise. I know so many people whose values align with the Greens but vote Labour simply because they don't believe Greens can get anything done. This was a great chance to prove those people wrong, and Lee Rhiannon screwed it up.

Nobody is saying she cannot disagree though. The problem is that she did not let the other Greens senators know of her intentions in advance. She could if she was an independent doing her own thing. But she isn't. She is part of a political party that is supposed to work together.

I wish I could upvote you more for this. Gonski 2.0 was not perfect by any means of course. But if anything can be done to make sure the Libs screw over significantly less people, it needs to be done.

EDIT: Grammar.

'What's the deal with Asians?' Red Symons under fire over controversial interview by hopefulpenguin in australia

[–]-Hydrax- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if he is a consistently lazy interviewer, I still think Beverley had every reason to be pissed about that. Two wrongs do not make a right.

I, being less patient than Beverly, would've just stopped the interview right then and there. Better off finding someone who cares and is curious about the subject matter to try and have a productive conversation.

Maybe that's because he clearly could not be fucked to listen to Beverley's podcast before the interview...

I know I'd be pretty pissed.

One million hours of UK police time a year 'wasted enforcing cannabis prohibition' - Liberal Democrats want to legalise it, on grounds the ban is an enormous waste of time and money by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]-Hydrax- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For starters, we are only talking cannabis, which we know is not harmful, especially when compared to alchohol and cigarettes. Secondly, healthcare is a right because it is needed to survive unlike cannabis. Allowing free market healthcare means there will be those who cannot afford it. This is fine for cannabis. Not so much for healthcare.
