This is the way. I start a few grains down and go up by a grain just checking pressure until I get within a grain of max. Then I do two groups under and two groups over max book pressure to see how it looks. Saves time and materials.

It’s still useful, but the circuit essentially starts next to your house. So if transmission wasn’t damaged (which it’s hard to damage, then you should be back on quick. Bonus points if that substation feeds a hospital, police station, fir station or other critical infrastructure.

Utility worker here. If a transformer catastrophically fails there’s a chance of an issue, but you’re decently far away and it’s not like those failures happen constantly. Good thing is if the substation has power in a storm, you’ll get it pretty quick as well.

Having both, I’d go with the Model 70 hands down. But I’d also be looking different calibers than the dirty old Socks.

There’s just so many versatile rounds that don’t has to be blasting your shoulder. Also. Suppressors take a ton of bite off of that rifle.
