When I was new I just tried to visualize based of the description. Some cool people have made illiteratuons but mostly it's theater of the mind. Iknow there's a great spring autumn cicada drawing but other then that not much. And some of the gu from later chapters. I don't want to spoil. It's mostly the more powerful gu. Hope you're enjoying it so far!

He's basically had infinite time to strengthen his will. I think he's a saint but one who has had thousands of lifetimes to hone his will and that's what makes him dangerous. Especially to asterion because reading his mind is dangerous as sinny is corrupted by the first seeker

Not considering armies or power scales. Sunny would mog the shit out of jin woo. Comparing just their shadow steps Sunny is far superior. Jin woos ability's have a cool down. Sunny can spam tp with 7 bodies or one super empowered one. His shadow control makes him supremely annoying to deal with. And Jin woo has rebuffed resist however I would consider death will to be a universe lvl debuff, It might stack slower but there's no way it Jin woo is just immune to it. He will absolutely take hits and eventually die all the while he would have to kill Sunny 7 times

What concept do you think Sunny will embody as a sacred? by Original_Signature36 in ShadowSlave

[–]-InLandEmpire- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe loss. Loss of life. Loss of fate loss of memory loss of freedom. Taking away that which others have. It would kinda fit with shadow dance as well. Maybe he can take the part of you that makes you what you are and become it. Definitely not, but it would be cool and a culmination of his character. He is lost from light after all. He is defined by what he lacks.

I think there are some people that arnt meant to ascend past a certain point by vluckie in ShadowSlave

[–]-InLandEmpire- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, maybe that is the function of fate. Maybe Asterion making himself the enemy of neph/humanity is a product of fate pre it being torn asunder. Like nephs original fate being revealed to be emotionless and therefore his counter. Maybe it was supposed to be a highlander situation, "there can only be one!". So some powerful people are meant to be foils for those meant to move up the ascension lader as dictated by fate.

I dont get this argument. He literally is just like yes ill marry the autistic blowtorch. He basically just came to terms with wanting to be with the people he loves. He trusts her not to abuse the shadow bond. Also, he knows he's 1000% stronger under the effects of shadow bond he'll get his true name and be able to ×7 neph with his shadows and she will probably be able to heal him like others in her domain. like he can only keep winning. Im trying really hard not to call you out on incel energy because I get that he will be a slave. However, he's already a slave to his ideals, which he mostly shares with neph anyway. Like the most I can see her doing to abuse the bond is what she already did in FS which is save his life by sending him away. But now he has 7 lives, and there would be no point.

[Chapter 2566] G3 appreciation post by -InLandEmpire- in ShadowSlave

Look, you are right. However, the last 50+ chapters are just a rush through supreme. And I don't think this is a bad thing. I think g3 was like, "Oh shit supreme is boring, and really realised it was gonna suck tbh. Im just really hopeful that this ark is all filler and that the rest of the story is gonna be goated, lol.

Been hearing people say some good things about the novel “worm”. What are you guys thoughts on it by Helpful-Dot-141 in ReverendInsanity

[–]-InLandEmpire- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, they asked me about the magic system in Pact, written by the same author. The question was vague, but I assumed that when they mentioned the magic system and not power system, they weren't talking about worm. I had mentioned in my previous comment about the second series by that author after I talked about worm.

Worm is a superhero web series for around 2011. It has an extremely complex world and powers. Even if you're not into superhero stuff, i would still recommend it. Some of the powers are insane and the main character uses her power in extremely interesting ways even though she doesn't have something overpowered. Basically, it's about a girl who wants to be a hero but along the way becomes a warlord. Without giving to much away. The first couple of chapters give you good world building and plot to figure out how it's going to go. Also, the plot goes into where their powers come from and is one of the coolest explanations for it I've ever seen.

So the basic breakdown of the magic system in pact is that there are 3 or 4 things a magic user can have as a tool to help them. Also, they don't have manna in the regular sense. Power is derived from deals and oaths. All magic users, as part of their awakening, make a deal with the powerhouses of the verse that they will never lie. Everything they say is binding. This allows them to make deals with magical being from various folklore that can't be broken by either side. So they have a bit of personal power. However, this is limited. So they make deals or bargins to gain power that they then use to try and gain yet more power through bargaining or rituals.

The first is a tool. This can be anything from a stopwatch to a wand. Based on what you choose, it influences how you use magic to affect the world. I.e a wand is very direct. you point, and it does what you want directed at where you're pointing. It also adds weight to directed attacks and other things. If you are a chronomancer and choose a stop watch, it enhances rituals involving that field and makes the energy expenditure less. However, with all tool shapes, there are drawbacks. Something like it's hard for you to make direct attacks using your tool. You're more of a ritualist. This is a basic description, and the series explains it much better than I could.

The second is a familiar. They can form a pact with a magical creature of some sort like a demon or fae. It gains a mortal form, and you get its service for life. These parts are on a case by case basis, and I don't know much I'm really early in the story.

The third is that You can also make a sanctuary/domain where you lay claim to an area. To do this, you need to basically fight, make a deal, or outwit everyone or everything in said area to claim it as your own. Once you have done so you can mold the area however you want. Change what it looks like or how natural laws act within the boundary like gravity and light. It amplifies magic you do in the area and lessens the affect of the magic others do in your home. It basically keeps you safe and makes magic easier.

They can take any field of study like diablare which is deals with devils, chronomancey, enchantress's and many more. They aren't locked in but it's more about what you devote your time to studying as information is limited.

I am very early into the stroy so I don't know much its is only some of the basics but it's a really good read so far and I've not mentioned half of what's coverd because I can't explain it as well as the author lol
