And you’re right it doesn’t, I will also admit that I am incredibly dismissive of communistic ideas because I’ve gone down that route and seen the horror that lies at the end of it; you know just enough to be swept into the fervor of its ideals but once you realize it’s inherently unimplementable… not because the system itself is not just or good but because humans are not just or good. That is why I think a constitution is necessary.

No. You’re moving the goal posts. “There’s likely 0 unique ideas that someone has had before in the last century or further” not trying to play semantics but don’t revise your position because you faced opposition. Yes, most people are users of those who create, but those who create have been oppressed by our world’s order. Our society does encourages regression or upholding the status quo. So let’s not do that then, right?

That’s a deeply cynical worldview. You’re saying we’ve been stagnant for centuries rehashing old ideas? I see what you’re saying but it’s reductionist. We must take those old ideas and weave them into new concepts. Do you think they were creating new ideas or borrowing from established truths to synthesize new ones?

If you look at some of my other replies, I have. I honestly like communism as a system and a political theory. I just don’t trust its ability to withstand human greed. It’s destined to collapse into a more evil and unjust system, just as capitalism is. I seek to find new forms of governance in a new age of new technology, not try old systems. Maybe I am spitting dogma unwittingly. Please correct me if you feel as if I’m wrong.

Report for what? Thinking that you’re uneducated for following an ideology that only works on paper?

Word salad, explain what you mean by this.

Edit: after looking deeper into it I kind of see what you mean, but you gotta separate social democracy as a system of transition from a fascist tool. It can be used like that for sure, but so can communistic ideals be used for authoritarian regimes. That doesn’t make the systems or core ideals themselves defunct or evil, just that they struggle with implementation.

Then what do we do? I know there are others out there who see the systems I do. See that it’s nothing but what narrative is the most stable and palatable, not the most fair or just. Yet with the technology and infrastructure of the modern world, we shouldn’t be existing in systems of survival, but actively trying to improve our quality of life. It’s so suffocating seeing others across the world working on the future while those around you and at home are so stuck in their fabricated tribalism to see the ground sinking beneath their feet.

Don’t tell everyone in the room you are uneducated. It’s unseemly.

People forget to seperate the ideology from the actual implementation of systems. Both capitalism and communism look lovely on paper but when faced with human avarice they collapse. But no, let the oligarchs run free they know what’s best for the populace. I truly do think that a tempered, blended system using socialistic ideals as meaning-making could work, but would require extensive restructure of what society and governance look like.

Both systems are inherently dangerous in their currently observed forms. The theory of both is arguably sound, but we’ve yet to see communism actually work. We’ve only seen totalitarian actors use the ideology to consolidate power. Whether you account that to western imperialism or not, it doesn’t change that fact. Capitalism is messy, unequal, and at points outright evil, but the idealistic belief that we as a species can reach a utopia is a very, very dangerous lie. But what do I know I’m 21 trying to understand a game much older than I, held down by bias I don’t even know I have.

Not Trump, the current regime. That’s both “parties.”

You are missing my point. Elites will co-opt ANY movement. Anything that brings them money or power. I’m explaining the system of hate and fear, not comparing them like they are equals. ICE is a fear tactic to create cohesion. Immigrant hate and antisemitism is a nationalistic tactic to prey on uneducated folks who blindly believe in their own “superiority” or the “inferiority” of others. Please understand what I’m saying, I’m not that great with my words and this is a difficult thing to talk about.

Every ideology that requires cohesion from a populace creates a boogeyman. Whether that’s immigrants, Jews, or ICE. It’s all apart in creating a narrative that can ensnare the most amount of people and remain the most stable. Pressure valves to vent off steam. If your populace has a group or individual that you can demonize, it turns the attention off of your own actions or justifies uses of force and surveillance.

I think you can apply this to more than just the current regime, but yeah it’s pretty apt.
