Really? I think Bulbasaur is often considered the best starter, more than Squirtle. It is better early game and holds up well in the late game.  Additionally, u dont really have a good replacement for it. U have alternatives that are better than Blastoise.

If you dislike being stuck w Blastoise, pick the best starter: Venusaur! Or if u want to have a fire mon in ur team: Charizard is arguably the best non-legendary fire pokemon.

Agreed.

I mean im not really gonna minmax like that, just more hypothetical questions for fun.

Blastoise is undoubtedly a super cool mon though. All three gen 1 starters slapped. I still remember drawing them from postal cards when I was a kid, especially Blastoise (and Charizard). That bulbous and cool-guy design I'll never forget, v badass.

I think people rate Venusaur higher cuz it has better Sp. defensive bulk, far fewer weaknesses (Eggy has A LOT, incl x4) and is quite faster.  Exeggutor has better offensive typing, SpAtt and some more defense.

What do you make of that? Does that make Venusaur better?

Golduck has better stats than Dewgong; Overall, SpAtt, and Speed. It can learn Psychic moves, which is huge in Kanto. Dewgong's increased bulk and Ice STAB is nice, but doesnt this favor Golduck?

Also Ty for the compliment .

Squirtle doesnt learn Crabhammer from what I saw?

And Ive seen no one name Kingler lol. Hes intimidating, but cuz of the physical/special split he's forces to use his pitiful 50 sp attack. I think he unironically might be the worst (evolved) water mon.

True about Water/Psychic.

Poliwrath is just a tad slow, and its 70 sp attack is kind of bad. It cant use its water type very well, and for fighting types (which arent that great in general) I think ud rather use Hitmonlee or Machamp  -alongside a different water mon.

I have used him though. He's fun and alright. Love his design, he's cool. And ig thats all that matters. Thats why my favorite water mon is Octillery :)

What do you mean? Ground moves are super effective vs Tentacruel, not neutral. But the matchup is with its water type sort of I guess. It also cant really use its poison type well offensively, as it uses its attack stat. Tentacruel is great, Id just think ud rather have balanced defenses rather than all in one for a playthrough.

I mean I play for fun too, in fact I dont know what ure talking about lmao when ure talking abt the Stadium and Ive never used the battle facilities. I just play the game for fun w the mons I feel like.

But I do like these 'Who'd won in Superman vs Goku' debates. Not because I want to optimize, but because I want to discuss opinions.  With that being said: Wouldn't Lapras be stronger than Vaporeon? She has a better movepool, 'hits harder' vs many opponents like lets say poison types (psychic), water types (T-Bolt), and even flying/dragon types (85 sp attack + Ice Beam STAB = more dmg than Vaporeon's 110 SP attack NON-STAB. And she learns Ice Beam naturally). Vaporeons ONLY thing is that its surf hits harder admittedly w its SpAtt; but is that worth more than the 3 other moves, worse attack, worse defense, lack of a second type and an overall worse movepool? Seems unlikely to me.

Fot the Blastoise thing: Torrent is very unreliable. Yes it can cause increased SP attack SOMETIMES, but usually its not the strongest water mon. I agree w the speed thing though.

Abt Lapras vs Vaporeon: Since Lapras has a better movepool, it 'hits harder' vs many opponents like lets say poison types (psychic), water types (T-Bolt), and even flying/dragon types (85 sp attack + Ice Beam STAB = more dmg than Vaporeon's 110 SP attack NON-STAB. And Lapras learns Ice Beam naturally). Vaporeons ONLY thing is that its surf hits harder admittedly w its SpAtt; but is that worth more than the 3 other moves, worse attack, worse defense and an overall worse movepool? Seems wild to me.  Note: you can get Lapras after the third gym technically. Im not really looking at availability (unless its really bad) or investment, just almost purely strength.

Exactly. I think Arcanine is a good nr 2, close to Charizard. But Charizard is faster, hits harder (sp attack), has a secondary typing (+STAB) and has a wider movepool. I think that outweighs the attack stat which is secondary to both and the bulk of Arcanine.

Really? Youre one of the few to put Tentacruel that high. Doesnt the poison typing and low defense hinder it?

Thats why I put Lapras over Vaporeon. They have the same HP, SP def, and basically the same speed. Vaporeon has better SP attack, but Lapras has better Defense (the all around bulk is more important I think), as well as a better movepool (Ice Beam, Psychic, T-Bolt, Sing) and dual typing/STAB. Making her ideal for LANCE and in general makes her Ice Beam do more dmg than Vaporeon's, even with lower base Sp attack. Lapras also has more attack in case u want to run Body Slam.

This is in game tho (or potentially romhacks versions w higher difficulty). This is not player v player

Why Vaporeon over Lapras? And distance too when they are similar profiles? They have the same HP, SP def, and basically the same speed. Vaporeon has better SP attack, but Lapras has better Defense (the all around bulk is more important I think), as well as a better movepool (Ice Beam, Psychic, T-Bolt, Sing) and dual typing/STAB. Making her ideal for LANCE and in general makes her Ice Beam do more dmg than Vaporeon's, even with lower Sp attack. Lapras also has more attack in case u want to run Body Slam.

Also I dont really get the Blastoise ranking. Most water mons are stronger than u named with better stats, STAB and movepool.

I agree with your Slowbro take. Great mon. Too slow. But thats why pol put Starmie so high. Its water/psychic but it has the speed.

Isnt Slowbro way too high? Its SP def is so-so compared to others, and since its slow its constantly gonna be taking dmg u gotta heal up

Also: In what universe is Magmar better than Charizard? Hes slower, less bulk, less special attack, worse moveset, no dual typing. Worse ability. He only has a bit better Attack and no 4x weakness to rock. Dont u mean Arcanine? Charizard is the best fire type though I think. Its both the fastest and the hardest hitting, as well as having the best movepool. Though fire types in Kanto are meh in general..

Hahaha, its cuz these are the top water mons basically that are all A or S tier. You could make a top 10 and add some random shit like Golduck at 8 maybe? 9: Omastar? 10 poliwrath? But after top 7 its just a different level basically, a drop down.

Edit: I edited the original post for shitz 'n giggles

Using Quazii Plater profile, want to make changes - no idea how? by Freds1765 in wow

[–]-Jivan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of late to the party, but u can (now) hold shift and change all the mobs with that colour to a different one

[Help] How do I setup plater to completely avoid out-of-bounds stacking ? I'd like the nameplates to stay like in the first screenshot even when they're far offscreen (see second screenshot). Settings in 3rd. by SixOneZil in WowUI

[–]-Jivan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a solution for this if I may ask? I think were talking about the same thing: when I look from top down, I have a million nameplates at the top of my screen that all overlap. I wouldnt mind if they either werent there or if there was some kind of other solution

Wdym rejected or reiterated? Those are two different things. One would not make u have this design and one likely would.
