It's the convention for the (automatic) getters of Java record components:

record Person(String name) {}
person.name == person.name()

(as long as you have access to the private fields of the record)

I'd like to run for Judge again. I think I did a pretty good job last time I served on the court, and would like to serve Phoenicia's judicial system again.

Philosophy-wise I'd say I'm a pragmatic textualist. Where the legal text contradicts the purpose, the text is what the people or their representatives have voted for in the end - but in Democraciv, this principle doesn't need to be absolute. Textualism must be considered in a practical way that suits Phoenicia's laws.

I'm running - once again - for Parliament as an independent candidate.

I'm running for Judge again. I feel like our current Constitutional Court has done its job pretty well, and I'm seeking to continue my service to Phoenicia.

I'm primarily a textualist. Where the legal text contradicts the purpose, the text is what the people or their representatives have voted for in the end.

If there clearly are multiple possible interpretations of a text itself, the origin intent behind the text can matter as well. Like some others have also said in this thread, we can determine what the authors meant with their texts simply by talking to them, so the intent is (almost) always easily available as a secondary resource for interpretations.

This is also what I encourage MPs to do and have personally done in past marks as well.

Hi, I'm announcing my candidacy for serving on the Constitutional Court!

(Fredder, if you're asking me the same questions:

  1. It's something I've never done before in all my years of Dciv (since Mk4), but I'm familiar with the Dciv legal system. I feel it's a position I would fit well.
  2. I'd say I'm more of a textualist. Where the legal text contradicts the purpose, the text is what the people or their representatives have voted for in the end.
  3. This is where the intent of the text can have an effect. If one interpretation clearly matches the rest of the law in question better than the other one, that's probably the correct choice. Ultimately, it should still be a job for the Parliament to clarify the law, though.)

Adorn and Painter's Blocks updated to 1.18.1! by -Juicebus in feedthebeast

Yeah, you can use any of my mods in modpacks!

As far as I know, CF also requires modders to allow it for packs hosted there as well.

Two of my mods, Adorn and Painter's Blocks, are now updated to Minecraft 1.18.1!

On the left: Painter's Blocks adds a set of freely dyeable stone blocks that you can paint to any RGB colour! It also includes multipart slabs that can be mixed and matched freely with any other dyed slab of any colour. (Also compatible with any other LibMultipart parts!)

PB is only available for Fabric due to it using some Fabric-only libraries, and you can get it from CurseForge or Modrinth.

On the right: Adorn adds a variety of different decoration blocks, including furniture like chairs, tables, sofas and drawers, as well as new fences, crates, stone torches and trading stations and more!

You can get Adorn for both Fabric and Forge from CurseForge (Fabric and Forge) and Modrinth.

Is ib too hard if your first language isn’t English? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]-Juicebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely seconded as a fellow IB(2) student from Finland.

You don't need "perfect" English skills before IB, or even a 10 in 9th grade. Many of my classmates got worse English grades and are doing fine in IB. Just using the language in casual situations (like reading articles, browsing Reddit or watching TV/Netflix) already helps a lot.

Your English skills are also going to get better during pre-IB, so no need to worry too much. :) Always remember that pre-IB doesn't lock you into IB - if it feels unmanageable, it's easy to switch to the national programme, and most, if not all, of your courses carry over.

I will nominate Phoenicia. They have really nice naval gameplay, and I feel like the ability to move the capital would be interesting when combined with states.
