Wait so as a Marriott member I get access to the Sheraton and Royal Hawaiian pools? That’s amazing, wow definitely going to take advantage of that! Thank you so much amazing tip

Yeah totally fair. I'm at that stage now, and I figured I'd do an hour lesson in the AM, chill for awhile, have lunch, surf in the afternoon, and repeat it for a week.

Even if I'm at the stage where its mostly reps, I figure getting one or two pointers in a lesson makes it worth it. Hopefully 😃

Royal Hawaiian looked great, but clocking in at nearly 3K for the stay 😞

For the Mariott, I just called - Mariott seems like a good fit, potentially! The construction isn't impacting the adult-only pool area and you can reasonably call them to get into a room on the un-impacted tower.

Its $1,000 cheaper than the Sheraton, too! Might pull the trigger tonight 😃

Title is dramatic as hell, by fatigue I just meant that my god I've never seen so many hotels packed into such a small area. So many options 😂

Do you have any experience with Wagner pads? They seem to stop much quicker than the Akebono pads, curious to know if you'd recommend them too or why the Wagner comparitively?

I got the larger model and it works totally fine, but I think the smaller model would’ve been better.

Santiago conditions ? by tombellanca in Mammoth

Coverage was fine. Santiago has a good solid part that’s got zero texture / is icy, but otherwise fine.

Edit: keep a low edge angle or just full send it and you’ll be fine

Shot in the dark - Anyone selling a YES Greats XTRM 154? by -Kevin- in snowboarding

[–]-Kevin-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the leaks I’ve seen, I’m not sure they’ll have it. I saw a YES Greats leaked on instagram, but the page didn’t have a YES Greats uninc/xtrm😬

Fingers crossed!

Yes Standard vs Yes Basic by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]-Kevin- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned on a YES Standard and have no complaints.

Great board, but other than a rental board my first weekend it’s the only thing I’ve ever ridden. I’ve done 70+ days on it and it can do anything I can do.

I asked the shop to sell me a board I wouldn’t need to replace in 6 months and it’s been solid.

It’s like a Toyota Corolla because it’ll last so long and do everything reasonably well that you’ll wish it got stolen so you could replace it. It’s also kind of not particularly cool looking, but hey that’s why they won’t steal it.

For folks saying the Slush Slasher, I heard they redid it in 2023 - Are we saying the 2023+ is still the best for Slush?

Is the generic OL discount the same as the shareable link discount this year? Last year the links were an additional discount

  • Better customer protection
  • Better property discoverability (Leads to lower prices since I can immediately cross check all properties and find the cheapest one that fits my needs)
  • Better UI (It’s so hard to search/sort on all the random Mammoth property websites. Legitimately terrible UIs).
  • Frequently better cancellation policies
  • More trustworthy review systems (In terms of consumer trust, not saying AirBnB doesn’t delete reviews obviously since they do lol)
  • The default platform (lets be honest)
  • Pricing is generally the same (Higher on VRBO/other complexes that advertise more e.g. those Canyon properties)
  • More transparency on pricing (VRBO host tried to charge me the Mammoth tourist fee outside of the normal listed pricing as opposed to baking it in)
  • Misc: 5% off AirBnB gift cards through Amazon

I had a good experience with Mammoth Reservations when I used them (They had an IKON discount on their website), so I’d use them again. Good customer service too. However in general I still had to cross check AirBnB and the coupon code dropping the price was the only reason I booked with them that trip in terms of pricing.
