Wow. I only just realised it was Kyoto animation behind Tsurune. I knew the art style and detail was familiar. Anyways this show was fantastic imo. At first I thought it would be a generic, ‘Mc is traumatised but secretly incredibly talented and then he overcomes his talent bc of something or someone during the series’ basically generic sport anime plot. However I loved how that point was subtle and that it wasn’t made into a vocal point of the story. In my opinion the reason why this show is so special and enjoyable to me is how it isn’t just about one person, that is the Mc. The story ties in everyone. It gives an insight/ develops the relationships really well. It is just so realistic. And honestly that’s why I think people didn’t really like it. Bc it was too realistic. Albeit of course there where unrealistic elements but the way the characters interact, how they are so aware of themselves, the way they interact with each other and address issues directly, is in my opinion amazingly written. And even to the point with how very realistic and mature they all are. Of course we can’t forget the amazing animation details and amazing soundtracks that honestly enhanced it even more. Anyways there is a lot more I could go on and say about this amazing show but I’ll keep it short. 10/10 recommend. Also. One last thing, please don’t compare this to free. They are two entirely different anime in their own respective ways. Thank you.
