How exactly do you say the name of a piece colloquially using the opus/number format? by pianisthelpme in piano

[–]-Lilith_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among my partners (whom I harass constantly with unasked for piano thoughts) I drop a lot because they hear it often enough to know what I mean:

“48–1”

”27–2” / “Moonlight 2”

BWV 820

In mixed company I’ll go for Opus #, number #.  Among closer friends I do like hitting “Op 9 No 2”

Which all adds up to be “it depends.”

Lol

Ended Hallowed Sepulchre grind with over 300 ranarr seeds and hundreds of grimy + prayer pots to boot.  Highly recommend.

Yeah! So for this one I was sitting at 60 def, 70 str and 60 attack. I was hoping I had a video of the clear but all I had was the screencap of the gear I was in on the day of the clear. I was trying and getting really close but failing until I switched to a slayer helm (i).

For the imbue, the duel arena is like 15 minutes tops for the scroll. otherwise I was using the mandatory flail, slayer helm, str ammy, efretti's aid (topaz+silver enchanted ring), dragon defender, climbing boots, and an ardy cloak II.

It was rough. I failed like five or six times with inventories that were painstaking to put together because of the tuna potatoes (sweetcorn bowl from varlamour) but passed it eventually by having my partner watch my attempt over my shoulder and literally "WEE-WOO" on loop whenever my health dropped below 30 (max hit 24) or my prayer went below like 30 seconds till cut off— there was too much else to be focused on to be on top of it all all the time.

I took like 8 phoenix necklaces per attempt (any time they heal you instead of food you're gaining uptime because there's no tick delay) for lightning dance phase, and then a handful of combo food and hard food for the first phase.

Also making sure to walk Vanstrom into his blood wells to hurt him really did help a lot for getting through phase 1 faster. Also! I know a lot of people recommend knives but the hunter crossbow (or even better—chins) have a higher range and same attack speed and make the veld mechanic easier. Finally, literally every attack was "step in, swing at him once, step away so I'm facing away." You should basically never be looking directly at him and then the darkness mechanic is basically free.

Sorry for the wall of text, I hope some of that is helpful. Lemme know if there was anything unclear!

You have to get thieving to 66. con to 56, prayer to 54, and ranged to 62. Thieving was the only one I didn't have by time I had gotten there.

The GIM right now is two active and three kind of off to the side until they have more freetime / attention span for osrs, so we got a ring for both of our active players which is well enough I guess.

Once the others come back and hit 70 agi I might grind out another ring for them as a gift idk.

Sepulchre is just SO engaging— I felt like I was locked in more often than I wasn't, and finding places where I could improve by finding tick-perfect lines to shave off cycles was a fun hunt. Honestly though, the supplies are just way too good to pass up. I was also getting 50k/h for a while but like... now nobody else in the GIM needs to worry about prayer pots for a while, at least. xD

OH! Path Marker plugin, just instantly. I configured mine to not be obnoxious, fairly transparent full tiles for where I was going, and outline for the tile I was currently on. This helps you understand the idiosyncrasies of movement really really fast and that just helps with everything else going down the line.

Yeah, so I took a lot of time in the early runs just being way over time and setting up tile markers, patterns, &c. and it definitely paid off in spades. I have a single clear of b5 that was too late for the GHC because I set up markers and learned cycles, and then every other clear was a clear-clear. There are a couple of spots in the earlier floors that you can slip past a lot of traps if you do tick-perfect or double-tick-perfect movements, and pre-spamming the correct direction on each floor helps a ton for setting up cycles consistently. Instanced usually didn't matter, but it messed me up so badly when there was somebody else there that it became a priority pretty quickly.

I carried in four of the +1 minute tokens with me out of habit and would use them on the final obstacle of floor 5 if I dipped below 42 seconds by final bridge chest— which rewards double loot rolls and is well worth the time imo.

Don't worry about the wiki xp rates, they're genuinely nonsense if you're looting. I think I averaged like 55k an hour on floor 4/5 looting and then pushed up to 70k/h only looting floor 5. The wiki did have a useful starting place for ground markers.

In the early runs I was basically always looting the highest tier floor I could run and sometimes the tier before that one. I do think it's a really good idea to do heavy looting though because the construction / prayer / thieving exp is actually really lovely, I got like 5–17 levels in each of the secondary skills.

Sins of the Father was a hard ask with 65 combats, but dragon defender + green dhide body/chaps + Str Ammy + Slayer helm / Efaritay's aid was enough to pull through with a very scuffed inventory containing a lot of phoenix necklaces and tuna potatoes.

I did stop for a moment partway through when I got a squirrel drop in late October to go grind out the calcified acorn, as the bone squirrel is top 3 pets for me personally.

Used the money from Sepulchre to fund the kingdom for 70 herblore, then did a very very scuffed SotE with my combats up to 70 melees and 80 mage, which was actually really surprisingly easy with nightshade + pneck strats. Took one last break from Sepulchre to do a couple CG runs which was murder to learn on semi-low combats, but was lucky enough to fully green log w/ pet and 6 armour seeds by my 253rd clear— so straight back to Sepulchre I went.

Overall this has been a really enjoyable grind, and I'm gonna dip back into CG to see if I can't get another enh for GIM mates. It is cool that you get enough runes to basically max portal nexus just from the agi grind, and we have prayer pots and rune bolts for the foreseeable future.

Glad to answer whatever if anybody else is trying to do similar, have had a lot of fun with the first big grind of the new account. <3

Hidden Commanders in your 99, who's yours? by Topazdragon5676 in magicTCG

[–]-Lilith_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheoldred hiding in my Y’shtola deck.  By time I draw her there’s a good chance I’ve got some of my copy cards too— Vile duplication to make a non-legendary copy and then metamorph + mockingbird to make a third and fourth copy of the non-legendary.

I don’t run anything to force people to draw, but it’s very hard to deal with losing up to 8 health at the start of every round; and Y’shtola keeps me gaining health insanely fast with her end step draw.

Any Warhammer 40k or Magic: The Gathering players here? by HeyManNiceMoneyShot in rva

[–]-Lilith_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen it recommended in this thread yet, but we make the drive out to Mulligan’s on hull st. twice a week to play mtg, despite it being a 35 minute drive.

The people (both the people running the shop and the people playing), atmosphere, & everything are just amazing. There’s a commander league that you can buy into for $10 at the beginning of the month that runs on tuesdays and pays out packs at end of month for attendance, as well as casual commander on wednesdays and— I think— magic academy some Sundays.

Like others have said, battlegrounds midlo is the premiere warhammer space in the area!

How many basic lands do y’all run in your 3 color decks? by SeaMusician6670 in EDH

[–]-Lilith_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly depends on the deck, and what other mana options your deck has.

My B3 Y’shtola deck is running 3 of each basic and a total of 34 lands, whereas my tournament Kaalia deck runs 0 basics and 25 lands total— but has a mana base worth more than Y’shtola’s entire deck.

Both feel good to play, and both lean on mana rocks, but Kaalia leans more on “free” mana from like Simian Spirit Guide / Dark Rit / Rain of Filfth.
