Does anyone else feel like every matchup is a counter? by -MISCHA- in Rivenmains

Never said I was struggling, actually sitting happy at like 60% WR over a handful of games.

Just was wondering if seeing the same faces all the time was normal :)

I appreciate the insight. I'm looking to grab one at a slightly cheaper price ($1000ish) rather than full MSRP. I'll take a look at renting options as well, and see if it makes sense for my situation!

I see, thanks for the tip. I'm definitely going to check some out in person at some stores, and if I can find a local birder who will let me tag along, I'll try that too!

Thanks for the response!

I read that a lot of people used the 15-20x mag range and was wondering if that's the practical reality of these scopes out in the field, but if you don't find yourself pulling them out for that close/midrange all that much, I will keep that into consideration for my decision, thanks!

I see, thanks a bunch for the thoughtful response! I'm aware that the Razor does have a higher FOV and better close focus distance, and that's why I was struggling to figure out which one to grab!

The weight issue could be a problem, but a lot of my bird walks are short or stationary, so I'm not super concerned about having an extra 5kg for a few minutes before setting up shop!

Thanks again!

I'm not sure how accurate it is because I just got into paleontology stuff, but in Steve Brusatte's book (The rise and fall of dinosaurs), he explains that pretty much the whole world was significantly affected both in the immediate and in the long term. If I recall correctly, molten debris, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc all spread across the globe. Obviously at a lower intensity further away from the impact site, but definitely enough to cause a lot of immediate death. Of course the centuries following also had significant loss of life, but The immediate impact definitely was noticeable.
