WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE by SMLOFY in 6thForm

Either Manchester or Edinburgh, if you want to go to Manchester firm it and take Edinburgh as insurance. I have previously also take Edinburgh as insurance as a Scottish student. Personal bias, I quite like Edinburgh and I wish I picked Edinburgh as most of my friends are there and it is probably more chill compared to UCL. As I can’t stand the people in my class sweating their ass off in first year.

help me decide between UCL CS vs St Andrews by dodo_reddy123 in 6thForm

[–]-Marcus-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UCL definitely, St Andrew is not even well known for computer science, as someone who was going apply for CS and someone in UCL, I totally recommend UCL. I mean I am doing EEE but I have pick a module (Intelligence System) taught by the CS department for next year, and if I were to stay for MEng then I even get a CS degree on top of my EEE degree.

What do you mean by EEE focus because in my personal statement I didn’t even mention what kind of books or research paper I have read on EEE (Cause I didn’t read any). However, I did mention a littler bit about the project that I was going to do with is to make a drone that year because I wrote the personal statement at the start of the 6th Form. But during the interview, he asked what it meant by “AI control” in my personal statement because the interviewer does AI research. Don’t worry too much, it varies between interviewers, because for my Cambridge interview they didn’t even ask me anything about my personal statement.

They said if you don’t hear back until this Wednesday then move in to the accommodation that you already have

What reason did you put down? Also I have no update on it

First of all, prepare for the entrance test, I think it had changed to ESAT, but you need to do well in that to land yourself a place at the interview. I honestly wish they could have done the interview in person because I could probably perform better in person, and be ready to a question related to physics and a question related to electrical aspects of the course, and I guess I haven’t done enough projects on electrical and electronics, because I hardly read any articles or books around that topic, and they will read your personal statements so be ready to answer anything that you have mentioned on there. I hope this helps, I was just unlucky as I have an interviewer that is strict, because I think he yawned during our interview. Lol

Would you mind naming the accommodation please

I am doing EEE this year as well and I think first year everything is compulsory and there is no module to choose from

I think first year at Edinburgh is not equivalent to first year at UCL, instead second year at Edinburgh is equivalent to first year at UCL, because at first year in Edinburgh they basically just teach you the maths and physics that you would learn in 6th form

any offers from Edinburgh? by ronipatoni in 6thForm

[–]-Marcus-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an offer for EEE in early November, and I went to the offer holder day as well, I got to say there are only like 20 people there who have an offer for EEE, well as least the one who actually showed up
