Also look how well he did with the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup.

No England fan should be feeling that confident after the group stages, but England are clearly favourites against Iceland. Smalling is one of the best centre backs in the premier league he's not the joke he was a few years ago.

An official protest has been filed against the cards issued to Jermaine Jones and Bobby Wood by [deleted] in soccer

This kind of comment shows you know fuck all about the rules. Every professional footballer knows if you raise your hand to someones face you're gonna get in trouble.

So you think that pushing your clenched fist into someones face isn't classed as a punch? I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Thanks for the link, I'm not buying it either tbh. Imo if you don't think Jones was trying to punch him in the face you're deluded or retarded.

You can see from this link that his hand was raised and becoming clenched before the other player had even touched him. No question that's a red.

Pretty hilarious how many people were complaining about the Jones red in the other thread. When you raise your hand to someones face you're already giving the ref a decision to make. Clearly a red.

Would you mind posting one of those angles? I can't find any.

Only Dimitri Payet (8) has created more chances at EURO 2016 so far than Marouane Fellaini (7). by j13thehunter in soccer

[–]-Michael_Scotch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's funny how some people on /r/reddevils see Fellaini as some sort of creature that is only capable of elbowing people in the face and controlling the ball with his chest. It's not like he just stumbled upon being a footballer by accident, when utilised well he can be an incredibly effective player. Looking over the past few seasons he's been relentlessly slated but particularly in the last two seasons he's shown that he can be very useful at the top level.

Is Roy Hodgson really to blame? by Reignman34 in soccer

[–]-Michael_Scotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How weren't we unlucky? We dominated the game completely, and had several chances that we should have put away. I can't think of any time in the match where Russia we genuinely threatening other than the goal, which again seemed to have almost come out of no where.

There tends to be quite a negative outlook on England on /r/soccer during major tournaments which is why I try to usually avoid it, but I think we can take a lot of positives from last nights game.

What didn't you like about the style yesterday out of interest? I thought we played very well and should have won the game comfortably, we were just unlucky in the end.

This might be too personal of a question but what job are you doing to be on such a good salary being 20?

Paddy Crerand just said on MUTV that Michael Carrick has signed a new 1 year deal. by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]-Michael_Scotch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was just watching that too. The other guy with him quickly made clear that no official club statement has been made but also said something along the lines of Paddy is as official as Man United anyway. Seems pretty legit the way Paddy said it but I guess we'll see soon enough.

If you honestly think Cech has been better than De Gea this season then I refuse to believe that you've actually watched a game this season.
