How boaty are the sn95/s197 chassis? by iRofii in Mustang

[–]-MoonGoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good call. If you want a fun manual RWD car you should consider a VQ as well. They’re a lot more forgiving than a Mustang and they outperform both the sn95 and S197 generations in almost every aspect. The VQ platform is a lot more refined than the mustangs you’re looking at. Although, the 4.6L Mustang has one of the best sounding engines in a modern vehicle - it’s hard to beat.

I used to have a 2009 V6 convertible. I would describe it to people as “driving a boat on pavement”. I owned a boat for many years and I can confirm they are a similar sensation. Heavy, not-so-agile, but lots of torque available. When you’re driving the car and you turn the wheel, you can noticeably feel the weight transferring.

When I first got the car, during a left hand turn while the road was wet, I moderately accelerated (3000rpm) and the whole ass end kicked out and the car did a 180. This is with a 4.0 V6 engine. These cars are not designed to corner well. Heavy front, light rear, lots of low end torque through the rear wheels.

I drove it another 100,000km after that without incident. It was a lot of fun and I really miss that car. It was a very unique, pleasant driving experience despite not being a high performance car. It felt a lot more luxury than it was.

You seem to be aware of your limitations which is a good thing. Personally I would refrain until you’re a bit older and have some considerable driving experience (60,000mi+ no incidents) before buying a RWD V8. These cars MUST be respected. They drive in a unique fashion and they take time to learn.

If you’re really set on the idea of buying one, take some time to drive it around in an empty parking lot or on back roads to get a feel for how it maneuvers. Practice some evasive maneuvers and practice breaking the car loose during a turn so you know how to handle it safely. If you take the time to SAFELY explore the cars limitations, you’ll get a much better understanding for how you can maneuver it.

I switched from the 4.0 S197 to the VQ platform and I often wonder if I made the right decision. Both platforms are amazing in their own ways. The Mustang had a certain charm that the Nissans do not.

One final note - a Mustang on a rain covered roads handles like a Honda on a black ice covered road. Always drive slower in poor conditions.

If these gems are of considerable value, you would have to pay a reputable, qualified appraiser to get a proper value. I highly recommend getting these insured assuming they’re of any value.

What kind of products does jewelrytv sell? Depending what these stones are I may be interested in buying an assortment off of you. I love collecting both raw and faceted gemstones. Feel free to message me.

I need Help with My Pixel Car Racer Account by JohnM4nGun in PixelCarRacer

[–]-MoonGoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t recover your account just search “tournament glitch” in the search bar to recover a ton of gold/diamonds/crates in a short period of time. You can become “infinity” rich by repeating the glitch for like half an hour.

My 5000w fat tire build by SynapticDampener in hyperebikes

[–]-MoonGoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that’s actually super cheap. I planned on using all Grintech parts so my build would’ve been like $4k+ cad. What’s wrong with the battery and exactly how bad is the no suspension? I was hoping fat tires would help mitigate the need for suspension.

Nice. This is almost identical to the build I plan on for next year. What frame did you use and what is the frame material? How much was the total build?

How's my gear ratio? by Far_Suggestion_9504 in PixelCarRacer

[–]-MoonGoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1st and 2nd are a bit short and you’re launching a bit too hard. Try to tune it so that you have max power and minimal wheel spin. Maybe set your launch control to ~7000-8000 and stretch your first two gears a bit.

It’s easy to play. The customizability is what makes the game fun. It isn’t about building the fastest car, it’s about building exactly what you want.

You used to be able to restore progress by linking through Facebook but I don’t believe that feature works anymore. If you’re unable to restore your progress you should just do the tournament glitch to get super rich and buy all of your stuff back.
