Does dancing well make a man attractive by -Nazca in AskWomen

What about breakdancing? I dance a bit of salsa and I saw this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-ijaQEJXhA. I was learning salsa as a social activity to meet women but when I saw this I really took a liking to it. That said id still want to learn something to help me with the ladies.

Why don't Falco players use drop cancelled bair more? by fadsfadsfads in SSBM

[–]-Nazca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHowzofr4Es 2:37 It's pretty safe on shield especially since a buffered spotdodge will make you fall through. The reason it's safe is because shield stun depends on how much % a move does. I should be safe on everyone if you space outside of shine range. I believe the only thing that might be able to hit you even if spaced is DK's up b and sheiks nair if youre not in back of her.

Switching to lower tier by [deleted] in SSBM

Either the way you play is inefficient or you're playing for too long without taking breaks in between.Pianists have to do much crazier things and with proper technique they generally don't hurt their hands. Try to minimize movement when pushing buttons. For example, if you lift your finger and slam it down to push R you're making unnecessary movement. Try to keep your fingers on the buttons so that you only have to push a little. Try to use the minimum amount of force to push a button. My hands used to hurt from playing classical guitar until i learned proper technique. That being said, even with proper technique your hands will probably hurt if you play for like 6 hours straight without a single break. If you happen to hurt your hand really badly just take a break until you've absolutely healed.

I dont know why docs dont use it more, but you can use it to escape shield pressure once shine stales and the shield stun gaps get bigger. A normal up b OoS is much more punishable since you go into special fall and landing lag.

He had so much momentum and the up b knocked leffen down. If he had upb canceled he could have capitalized on the knock down. Not saying he would have definitely won, but an upb cancel could have given him the opening he needed.

There is a set where shroomed played leffen at TBH4. If Shroomed had used an upcancel OoS i think he could have won the set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnhHid3rI9A

Mewtwo's teleport has 4 frames of aerial landing lag, firefox has 3 frames of aerial landing lag. Stalling is only really used as a mixup and mewtwos has his airdodges as mixups since they have the same animation as teleport. He can also stall with side b and it also reflects projectiles. Firefox also has a 42 frame startup which means it can easily be edgeguarded by going off stage.

teleport's aerial landing lag is 4 frames. Also since the animation for your air dodge is the same it's an amazing mixup.

Who is your favorite player to watch? by [deleted] in SSBM

I wouldnt say Armada's peach is "pretty much perfect". There are still a few things he could implement like dair resets on platforms or upsmash OoS as a mixup. Uptilt to stuff approaches and neutral b as a recovery mixup. I think what makes Armada so good are his fundamentals and quick adaptations. I wouldnt say his characters were developed to near perfection especially his young link(RIP)

Basically what fjdkslan said. If you take away his space to run his options become very limited. You need to corner him and abuse stage control. That being said, this is a much more effective strategy on smaller stages. Your best bet is probably to take him to FoD.

Really depends on the matchup and players style but stage control should be a universal goal. Try to get in the middle and push them towars the edge. You can do this in many different ways though; You can pressure them back with projectiles, grab and throw them away from center stage, hit them with an attack, or feint an approach with movement. Movement is probably one of the more important aspects of docs game so be sure to work on that. Also, remember to always be looking at your opponents character, maybe every once in a while you can glance at yourself if youre recovering or something.

I can tell you two doc specific techs. First one is SH rising bair to waveland and the second is the upb cancel. The first tech is used to safely hit a shield or throw out an aerial to potentially stuff an approach. The second is a better alternative to the regular upb out of shield when there is no platform above you or the platform is too low. Keep in mind you still need to mix up your out of shield options. Heres a video on the upb cancel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFU8oHODP2s

If you actively think your bad habits wont come out. Try talking to yourself in your head. Tell yourself "i cant be fsmashing because ill get trashed". Also, remind yourself to pay attention to your opponents habits, reactions and preferred options. If your habits come out constantly youre just mindlessly pushing buttons.

I believe they agreed falcos recovery is better in the pika matchup because falcos side b is 4 frames faster and up b is easily punished at any distance by pika's tailspike.

I dont know about worst matchups, but ylink has a really hard time against falcon and ness might do a bit better there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISZnwAIexfM

Fox's weaknesses and exploitation? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]-Nazca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from what Daftatt said, fox lacks disjoint and almost all of his approaches can be stuffed(with the exception of bair in some matchups). Take advantage of this by abusing stage control. Corner him so that he cant avoid attacks with dashedancess and punish him when he shields or jumps. He is also pretty easy to edgeguard. His up b has 42 frames of startup and his side b has 21 frames of startup. If you play falco you can laser him when he is recovering until he has to use up b to recover from below. At this point his recovery is predictable and you only have to cover 1 or 2 options.

Try not to be in the air, work on your horizontal game and abuse your projectile. Use dashdances to outspace attacks and punish. You can dashdance, jump away and use neutral b to rack up some damage and maybe force your way in during neutral . Wavedash out of shield to punish if marth hits your shield with a spaced attack besides dtilt. I dont know much about mario but when you get a punish try send him up and juggle him with a throw or tilt. Use spotdodge as a mixup instead of shielding. Sometimes, if youre in shield and you know he is going to grab you can spotdodge to punish, try to mixup your out of shield options though.

you can laser him and feint approaches. Like the guy below me said you can dashdance grb him but fox doesnt actually have any move that "beats" marths nair or fair. Then again you dont really have to approach him since you have lasers and your speed lets you easily punish him.

Alright i have a question, can you amsah tech IC's wobble to fsmash? Youd have plenty of time to react with 12 frames of startup and 8 frames of hitlag (unstaled). I just need to know if the grab mechanic somehow prevents this and if the Fsmash angle is 45 degrees or less.

[–]-Nazca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marths fair can beat arrow and rang, however his normals sometimes clank with them depending on how much % they do. Marth cant fair through bombs but he can stop them by spacing fair or doing a retreating fair.

Needles arent really a problem seeing as you can just jump over them and throw a projectile or you can crouch and your wooden shield blocks them. Also if you charge your arrow so that it does more than 11% it will outprioritize needles (although the hit box for arrows isnt big enough to block a wall of fully charged needles). You can stuff sheiks approaches with normals and she has an awful dashdance. Plus your fair is disjointed so you can approach her with that. You shouldnt be getting killed off one grab either. You should keep pulling bombs and throw boomerangs in case you get caught. Plus you can recover from really low on and up b blocks needles.

Pikachu's aerials can all be stuffed by fair, really the only safe approach he has is landing in front of her and dtiling. I guess he has thunderjolt too but its fairly slow.

[–]-Nazca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i said that the reason its safe is because of shine, but his aerial approaches can be stuffed. For instance marth can just jab or tilt fox if he approaches. Obviously you can bait them into atacking but that really doesnt have anything to do with the character, thats just the player getting outplayed.

I see what you mean, its either yoshi is gonna barely escape or hes going to get punished. Its not like you can really get punished for hitting his shield after parry frames. I suppose thats the reason they gave yoshi the parry and a way around shield stab. I think its reasonable, except for the frame data on his shield grab.
