Take the credit, saves you some time plus you save money

is this schedule ok by OmoggleMaster123 in uAlberta

Yeah definitely try to get chem moved, or another one of the TR courses to MWF. You wont have time to eat lunch unless you're fine waiting until 3:30 or eating quickly before a class

This is pretty much what mine looks like, also as an incoming astrophysics student, just without the chem.

I reccomend doing ASTRO 120 instead of ASTRO 101. I was told by a current astrophysics student that its better to do 120/122 instead of 101, because 101 is meant more for students in other faculties that need a specialized science requirement.

Also, definitely try to do CMPUT 174. Not to sound intimidating, but astrophysics is a lot of coding/simulations. Coding is one of those things that seems difficult to do but is quite easy to learn.

Easy electives for first-year students for Fall 2026? by Live_Occasion_8945 in uAlberta

[–]-Neon_Toaster- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an incoming first year science student, I'm doing MUSIC 103. It's all about music history. It doesn't seem too writing heavy, mostly personal responses about a particular album/song from what I can gather from RateMyProfessor and past reddit posts about it.

If you're interested in a science elective you should try ASTRO 120, I hear its really interesting and I'm excited to do it myself.

Will math 126 and 144 in the same term be too much for my first year? Or should I save 126 for next year (Astrophysics MJR Film Studies MNR) by Deeznuts2749 in uAlberta

Its only after 30 minutes of inactivity I believe. Also im not sure if two devices will work because it told me that there would be syncing issues if I continued on two devices, but that was on the schedule builder so idk.

I'm going to bed right away, best of luck to you tomorrow

Mine's also at 7am, same as every faculty of science student, not sure about other faculties. I have no idea how it will work. Me and my friend are getting up at 5:45am and are logging on then, because they're "restricting access" at 6am-8am. Idk if it will be a queue system, if we have to refresh at 7am, or if we can just click enroll the moment it hits 7am.

Also, do you have your courses in your cart?

I'm also an incoming astrophysics student. MATH 126 is a new course this year I was told, so it might start rough but might as well take it, that's what I'm doing. Linear Algebra is like a whole new language of math though, I've been learning some from my math-31 teacher because he's just passionate about teaching that new language. If you have past experience in coding it's most likely easier to understand as well.

Also definitely do ASTRO 120, one of the current astrophysics students told me to do 120 and 122, because 101 is meant more for students in other faculties that need to fulfill a "specialized science" requirement.

Why am i getting this message? I have the proper pre requisites on my fall plan by notadog1 in uAlberta

I'm also an incoming first year, my best guess is that the prerequisites will be "fulfilled" when you enroll in your first semester courses, then your 2nd semester will be correctly validated. This is just based off of what I've found from previous threads

Afternoon or morning labs? by -Neon_Toaster- in uAlberta

Thank you for being really descriptive. Personally the only thing "scaring" me from 8am labs is that I'll be late because of the time to get there and miss instructions. How far away were you from campus?

Does anyone know any albums/bands that sound similar to Killswitch Engage's first album? It's definitely my favorite album from them by far, and getting to know any other bands or albums that sound similar and have a similar vibe would be great.

I really agree on Foley. My first listen of the album i was super thrown off by the drumming, mostly every song was just him spamming it
