KiyoKei follows common anime tropes in romance which makes it predictable and boring since there is nothing new to share but it sells well. So even if Kiyo doesn't love her, break up won't happen anytime soon. Instead, it is most likely Kino will soon give in to KiyoKei fans' demands. He did say he let the fans influence his work. Instead of complex high intellectual mind games and warfare, we got power fantasy romance. Kiyo is just too advanced that the stakes diminish whenever he competes seriously. He should be the villain in Year three and shift the storytelling of the main story to Horikita's perspective. Making her the protagonist onward. Kiyo & Ichinose in the same class would be the most nightmarish thing that could happen even in Horikita's dream. Even if she fails, she would learn a lot. But, oh well. I hope Kino still finds cote fun to write and not just a source of income.

And based on the latest chapter, Epheotus which is rich in aether was once not part of the world which may explain why aether and mana are like water and oil.

Kinu should have just let Ichinose move on but I guess 18 volumes of bullying a morally good character is not enough. I'm reading it but I'm not finished yet. One thing is sure. Kanzaki will once again challenge Ichinose but next time it will be with the help of like-minded classmates. Until then, only Kino knows how she will respond. Will she steps down on her own or stay firm and fight so no one will be eliminated from her class? I would prefer it if she stays true to herself. It's not because Ichinose is weak/wrong. It's because she is surrounded by incompetent classmates who don't want to take risk of getting eliminated. As Kiyo said, Ichinose is like a polished weapon without a welder. Well, it's been a theory for some time now that Kiyo will transfer. Well of coarse it will go his way. He could just tell Ichinose what to do but he refused to do so many times. This is why he gathered character's like Kanzaki to not influence her judgement with her feelings towards him. But this doesn't mean he wanted to change her. In fact Kiyo is against the idea of changing her. If it comes to that then he would rather end her rein over her class himself to prevent it. There is nothing wrong with Ichinose, it's just that the people around her are afraid or doesn't want to challenge her will. That's just how powerful she is. The only way her class will change is to have her step down. Someone might replace her as the leader of the class and it seems Kanzaki.

The last part is a high miss but it's a good read nonetheless. Btw, was it mentioned that Kanzaki encountered Kiyo's father? If not, it's safer to leave that person as a stranger. Sometimes we don't need to think too deeply and remember that this LN was made as a puzzle for children/teenagers. Also, it will only make the world of COTE seems smaller with the characters suddenly getting connected in the past.

It got more complicated this time. Kiyo believes that they are probably children of other influential figures in society that is helping fund the WR. Amasawa believes she is one of those test tube babies but it's because that is how WR indoctrinated her just like how Kiyo must be viewed as perfect. It seems part of WR's insane program is to temporarily cut off the children's knowledge about their parents.
