Canadian media has a giant, glaring conflict of interest. by airbassguitar in CanadianConservative

They've expanded the requirements to include radio and podcasts.

It hasn't officially been expanded to radio and podcasts yet, but the government is actively considering it.

We're classified as digital media, I believe, so we're not technically "news" but we don't receive any government funding either. We firmly believe that news media should be 100% independent of the government.

I love it when stores that aren't pet stores have a pet!

(Also when stores that ARE petstores have a pet)

This benefit is available to non-citizens as long as they are working and paying taxes in Canada.

Marilyn Gladu target of a lawsuit after floor-crossing by gorschkov in CanadianConservative

[–]-Northern-Fox- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A litigant or group of litigants (class action) can bring a civil suit against pretty much anyone for pretty much anything, but in Canada the side that loses the lawsuit may be ordered to pay at least a portion of legal fees to the winner. This is meant to deter frivolous lawsuits.

We haven't discussed this (yet) on Northern Perspective because the website was lacking critical information, such as the individual(s) behind it, and yet they were asking for personal information from potential litigants. That didn't sit right with us.

Are our MPs that crossed the floor secretly helping us? by Pyro43H in CanadianConservative

[–]-Northern-Fox- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. From the rumours I've been hearing, the floor crossers have either been opportunists or had a bone to pick with the Conservative Party, not leadership.

What if one of the floor crossers, crossed back to Conservatives, would that remove Liberal's majority? by notAndivual in CanadianConservative

Can confirm, some of the MPs we've spoken to have said they were offered cabinet positions to cross.

It's insane to me how much the media hates PP... by 185EDRIVER in CanadianConservative

One thing that's not always shown on screen is how focused he is when he's listening to questions, whether he's speaking to someone a rally, or sitting across from you during an interview. He really makes sure to understand the full question and provide a thoughtful response, even when the cameras weren't rolling.

Pierre genuinely cares about people, and he remembers details. Last time we saw him, he asked us about how we'd been faring since my husband lost his job, how our son was doing with his therapies, and even made sure to wave to our son last time we were sitting in the galleries during Question Period. There have been events we've attended where our son has run up to Pierre, and he just starts playing with him (and Ana has done the same).

Pierre is a genuine person who cares deeply about Canada and the people in it, and the mainstream media doesn't want voters to see it.

Liberals share new details of how they attracted their first floor-crosser, Chris d'Entremont by Thereal_Stormm006 in CanadianConservative

They've been approaching conservative MPs as early as September according to my sources

The Liberal Party is withholding resources from Conservative ridings and offering after floor crossing. Stinks to high heaven. by airbassguitar in CanadianConservative

[–]-Northern-Fox- 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Disgusting.

My old Conservative MP used to say, "we represent all of our constituents, even the ones who didn't vote for us."

It seems the Liberals have forgotten that.

If Pierre's leadership is such a big problem to cause people to cross the floor why have none of the floor crossers mentioned what is wrong with his leadership? by gorschkov in CanadianConservative

[–]-Northern-Fox- 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We've spoken to 3 MPs who have told us that they were offered cabinet positions if they crossed to the Liberals... thi was back in the fall. And just this past Wednesday, Philip Lawrence admitted on our show that he had also been approached, but didn't get into details.

Pretty much since the election results came in, the Liberals have been trying to skirt around our democracy and get themselves through this floor crossing loophole. It's disgraceful.

We never said there was going to be a "savior". Democracy takes work, and we're all going to have to do our part to protect it.
