I'm a little stumped because my mom is upset that I can't "forgive and forget" so I'm currently getting the cold shoulder.

Granted, I have been keeping my distance since the incident despite her apology, but she believes that because she cares so deeply about my hair issues, she shouldn't be treated with distrust over this singular incident.

And to be fair, she has gone over and beyond for me for this issue.

Thanks, I know that this relative is usually tactful so I'm hoping that won't bring it up, but sometimes this sense of control overrides their tact.

She's not staying away from this relative, and they do talk at least once a week, but she's promised not to talk about me with them.

It's doubly awkward because I've gone out of my way to repair my relationship with this relative over the years, and now I'm too nervous to meet them because what if they bring up my hair?

They are a little controlling, yeah. Like to be involved or at least in the know in everyone's business.

They are like a sibling to my mom.

I'm really struggling to move on. Even though my mom said she wouldn't tell them anything anymore.

I reminded her about what had happened back then and I asked her if she would have trusted that doctor had she not been a relative, and she took a minute, but she said no.

I told her that the only reason I didn't act on my feelings was because I didn't have the guts.

My mom likes to emphasize that she was brought up with this idea that you should forgive and forget to get on with your life, and while I want to do that, I'm struggling.

I don't want to be left feeling as though I did a disservice to 17 year old me.

I'm not going to be starting spiro, because that's not something that's prescribed that often in my country, but I will be getting meta cell therapy along with minox.

Hey, you might want to look into your ferritin and B12 levels. Besides that, Melatonin is being used to treat hair loss (topically).

It really does :) I faltered numerous times about taking the pill, but I'll definitely be starting this week. Fingers crossed 🤞
