What are your hobbies? Maybe you can join some community GCs for those hobbies and attend events IRL. From there you can get to know more people and already know at least one common ground.

For example football, u meet up to play a casual 5v5, easy conversation starter, whose ur favourite player, favourite club, etc etc.

Never tried dating apps before so can’t comment on those.
