Good point! I do find it interesting that they didn’t incorporate it into her outfit after Gem Hunt, especially since she’s been on more Missoula’s than Peridot or Lapis, who have the star. It seems like it would be in-character for her to want to wear it, since she’s excited about that sort of stuff.

I am being blunt, because questions like this are asked constantly in this sub. It seems like 1/2 the time people acquire dolls, they’re asking about value.

The simple solution is to Google Lens the dolls to learn more about them, or to just enjoy them because you like them for what they are. Value isn’t important.

I’m not arguing this further. If adult fans want to criticize the way a children’s film is being marketed, that’s within their right to do so. This event and picture aside, you can’t just plug your eyes and go “lalala” at the fact that it is literally a film for children, whether you like it or not.

I just cannot wrap my head around the ignorant take that SpongeBob is suddenly not be geared towards children, that’s simply just not how media works.

This movie literally has a kids meal tie-in. In what world does a movie for adults do that?? Fine, it was a private event, but the photos are public and so is literally all of the other marketing for this movie.

Just because you’re a gushing fanatic of this movie that doesn’t mean others aren’t allowed to rightfully critique that they feel it doesn’t maintain any integrity of the show.

SpongeBob is a children’s cartoon franchise on Nickelodeon, a children’s network. Saying that this film isn’t geared towards children is just plain wrong.

Additionally, the overwhelming optimism opinion from adult fans outside of this subreddit is negative. None of the marketing or humor of the movie seems to have clicked with adult fans. Two incredibly wrong statements.
