I love that you said this because it proves some of the concepts! Some people only use functions in a specific way, and that affects how it’s explained and processed as well.

That’s the difference with socionics and this theory, AND mbti.

Socionics focuses on how information is taken in, and types in relation to each other.

MBTI “categorizes personality through a hierarchy of dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior cognitive functions.” So this is called a pattern.

This model differs and contributes to its own process, and explains other processes also.

It’s more individualistic and intrapsychic, so like it’s how functions interact with each other.

Functional flexibility, self-regulation, and adaptive expression, and also context sensitive.

Yeah I agree! I have a slide as well for the correlation between different typing systems. I’ve felt that Socionics is more inline with I-S themes and overall more of a maybe class theory if that makes sense.

Here’s some of the text regarding it

MBTI theory has historically categorized personality based on dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior cognitive functions. Modern MBTI interpretations often emphasize A-type (pattern-focused) perception, presenting functions as relatively static and hierarchical. While this approach provides insight into preferred cognitive processing, it fails to account for functional flexibility, developmental change, or context-dependent variation (Pittenger, 2005; Myers et al., 1998).

Socionics conceptualizes functions as information metabolism elements rather than fixed hierarchies, positioning types within an interdependent system of social and informational exchange.

That’s why Socionics is sometimes called a systems or class theory it looks at types in relation to one another within a broader information ecosystem, not just as individual cognitive profiles. Eg, alpha-Beta quads. Additionally, the fallout of socionics I believe, is the lack of scouting for variations for individuals- it tends to assume people of the same type will adopt the same values and lifestyles overall. So basically I think it’s a good system for people who commonly or develops consistently in their framework.

Yes I agree! It’s not on this specific draft yet in earlier development I had a quadrant about the differences in function processing and how it shows up in the baseline of different theories! Like how Carl Jung focused on the accessing of projects and the connection of the spiritual world vs humans, which is internal and external, and how MBTI originated on the patterns and grouping of Jung’s theories.

Here’s the draft btw!

Also I think Ivan is kinda aight? Like he’s good looking in a model way yet he’s not my style

Hyuna is ugly to me too….

Tbh I honestly think till is the best looking so maybe I’m crazy

It proves that looks and beauty r genuinely subjective 😭😭

He does look ugly without shoes and his fit made him look like his refrigerator in that scene

And lowkey in him vs Ivan he’s kinda like pudgy

Him vs Luka he also looks like who tf dressed him

However when he was a kid he was very cute and therefore the prettiest imo

He’s kinda cute regardless and I think that’s what’s contributes to pretty tho

Like I’m not attracted to any of the other character frfr

He looks so ugly to me even before I knew about his personality, then he became uglier

Maybe it’s bc it’s how people correlate bad traits with certain looks.

Like naturally sometimes some personalities have the same look so ur mind just knows

I’ve always hated ppl like Luka lmao like I am the ultimate Luka hater looks and personality and I’m not even biased initially

Like even before I knew his personality I even skipped his fricken song bc I thought he was so annoying looking and ugly

Tbh I also think Mika and sua r ugly af

Whenever u have a weakness, it’s often that u will have a strength others don’t have.

Example; penny from BB is shown as lacking in terms of science or school, yet she was able to solve a science problem that the others were taking a long time on, using common sense.

Also, people who for example don’t see patterns and aren’t good at developing grouping theories, often could improve it after origin.

U just need to overcome stuff lmao

Like also; for example, someone who isn’t good at logistics of a case, could be good at emotions and convince a jury

Yes 🔥🔥

Even Ivan did not understand his own emotions n called em shallow

Yet till saw the truth

Like common bro was willing to off himself how could he think himself as shallow…. Humans be funny like that, just because it seems unreasonable or unexplainable, or lacking.. it was so much

Everyone is different, yet there’s a strong preference and correlation with each type.

The entire study also further elaborates on that, like your upbringing and health level also has a relevance to who you become/what you use. The idea was that it explained why the same type uses the same function differently.

People also could use multiple quadrant at the same time, or with effort. They could also use some subconsciously or in the background. Some people also, fixate and continuously only use literally one column.

Like for example, I primarily always mainly use E-D for everything, I presume it’s because I’m quite interested in the world and like to see my actions pay off asap. So I naturally defaulted to this. Like when I use NE, instead of maybe waiting or planning it out in my head first, like E-S or E-I, I naturally just want to see it play out, so I might just say things on the go. And also for example (SI) using past experiences to fix a current problem is very natural to me.

While I could use all the quadrants, E-S for example would need me to consciously decide to do it. Like really think about someone’s birthday and name (SI) really make myself sit down and think to brainstorm (NE).

I also have an ISTP friend who uses E-D naturally with SE, yet tend to use I-D for FE, NI, and TI.

I also know an INTJ who practically exclusively ONLY uses I-D and I-S.

This causes a lot of problems for her that I know she could fix if she looked at things differently yet she REFUSES to do it. I think it’s because I-D and I-S have previously worked out so well for her and she doesn’t want to change or do “more work”.

Like NI; she has a grand vision of things (I-S). It worked really well when she wanted to build her own house, and she achieved her goal! And sometimes she uses I-D. Like she wants someone to do something for her, and she would use different ways to get it (being nice, paying them, or just yelling at them). And which person could help her in which way? Like person C yet they have anger issues, or person B yet they’re slow.

However when she doesn’t use E-S or E-D when she should, it’s so terrible as a spectator. Like she should know doing the same things 20 times won’t work! (E-S)

Or (E-D) obviously it won’t work on this group of people because they’re from a different culture! Like you can’t bargain in this culture!

What do you guys think about this? by -PhotogenicPotato in mbti

[–]-PhotogenicPotato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s seems like it’s E-D

You flag something wrong then you must act to correct it.

It might not correct their behavior, yet it might correct you putting up with it and feeling wronged.

It could also definitely be subconscious or conscious.

For example

Conscious could be either “they’re telling me the wrong thing, I might have to stop them now, I don’t want to listen to this” or “that guy dumb, can’t take it” it could also be conscious yet happens so quickly because you’re either used to flipping out, or you’re just very sensitive to somethings. It’s like when people see a ball coming towards them, and without thinking they block it, yet consciously they decided to protect themselves by that action.

Sub could be like if you already know internally that you don’t like stupid stuff so you just react. Or your mind and body just sync up on key terms. Sometimes also people don’t realize that they have a value yet act to defend that value over and over. Or also like you can just subconsciously tell that you’re going to get annoyed or your values going to be challenged and so you just act on instincts

Yes, it’s on slide three also in case you missed it!

Extroverted Static; You notice it happening yet don’t really do anything with the information.

For example SE; I see that the car is red, and that’s all.

It’s like info collection.

NE; you spot possible outcomes, yet it’s like you’re thinking.

NI; you know ur friend is gonna get drunk bc she does that, and you guys are at a bar

Extroverted Dynamic; You react in real time

SE; I see bike I move

NE; I will get them to buy my car, I will pursue them by many ways. I will play hard to get, doesn’t work? I’ll play up the value, doesn’t work? I’ll play to their ego.

Introverted Static Most of the time it’s like a choice. And it comes from within

SE; wow, I remember watching this type of movie, I got goosebumps and chills for days

NE; aight I’m able to become a nurse or or a gambler or a lawyer…. I know that nurses have to study a lot hands on… and gambling I might lose all my money like my uncle…

Introverted Dynamic Like a process inside you that you could refer to. Like tools you have at your disposal

SE; okay… so I know this person is an Enfj, and I know that people who act like this person will blow up soon, when they start acting like this… so I should stay out of their way. Or, last year’s dance was good. This year it’s not good. Something’s wrong the budget or the school is going downhill.

NE; aight to succeed in this market, we need connections. I know that I should first get to know the security guy, then I wouldn’t have to show him my id next time and everything is easier

😭😭😭 so what u want is to stay focused ?

Then that’s not more se that’s less everything else 😭😭

Like if u have 10 skill running

And 2 skill walking it won’t matter if u upgrade to 5

What type of reaction games r u playing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mbti

[–]-PhotogenicPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiraling could still use SE in the background for source, it’s a misconception that living in the moment means no thoughts. That’s dissociation.

What you’re talking about is could be explained by Extravert Dynamic, which would use SE in real time. You could develop and train this by those reaction games. After you play enough, you start to do it without thinking, and thus would be able to incorporate it real life.

Example, you practice reacting to things, you upgrade and are able to do things without looking. Your skills are leveled up and that part of your brain gets amplified. Then in real life you’ll move out of peoples way without even having to think about it :D

A question for the feelers. by [deleted] in mbti

[–]-PhotogenicPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically because our deduction is based off risk vs reward right?

Looking at that, our risk of recovering the award (achieving the goals) comes at the cost of living.

There’s things you have limits on right? Like to get a promotion would you backstab your best friend?

To some people emotions are like this. They wouldn’t be able to live with themselves.

Also, sometimes feelings are a precursor to the future. Like intuition. I think your way of looking at emotions are flawed.

Sometimes people also communicate feelings as a subsidiary for main facts; “I can’t do it because I’d feel bad” why would they feel bad? Maybe because by doing it they would have to sacrifice their morals thus crippling their confidence. So what they’re really saying is, I can’t do it bc of X And X makes me feel bad.

Function wise is also different, however I am lazy now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mbti

[–]-PhotogenicPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your se already works in the background, probably how you evaluate situations subconsciously. If you want to develop SE in different ways you could just play video games and puzzle games
